I hate DLC and this reinforce my point of view. I'm nostalgic of the days which when they released games, the were complete, no useless (although cool looking) armors, weapons or cheap squad member to get (Zaeed) or boring little side mission (Normandy crash site) were added later (paid or not). Paying for them is worse, because no matter what, it will never be worth the price because either the content was already made and probably cut because it was useless, or it will be way to short or limitative, or both. When they released new content, they actually waited till they got worthwhile and plenty of content which makes up a whole instead of small things which do nothing. Ok, the new squad member looks alright, it seems like she will be comparable to the others in terms of what you can do with her unlike with Zaeed, but I'm 100% positive it will be overpriced. Take Bring Down the Sky for example, useless and short (30 minutes, 40 max) of shooting gameplay (I want story, not something I did for dozen of hours) and they charged you 10 bucks. 10 bucks for not even an hour! I mean, if you'd take granted ME1 is 20 hours, it's like 2,5$ per hour.
So don't buy it. Don't complain about it being overpriced while at the same time suggest that you're still going to buy it.
Also: Don't buy DLC immediately and wait for reviews? Only takes two or three days, if that.
It always makes me laugh reading comments like these. Yeah, I know I have a choice, one which I'll make, but that doesn't take anything from the fact that I have a head to think with so I have an opinion whether or not I find something to be a good idea. Look, I know some people like you are always like: then don,t buy it and always buy everything without thinking about it, at least, even if I may end up buying it, at least I would have thought about it and realized that it's still ripping off. I am in right to complain about this and think it's not right, you are still in right to think that if things are made in some way them it's sure to be the right thing, that whether or not the history tolds us men are greedy and merciless you'll still believe the government cares about you or EA cares about you and doesn't think about getting consumers to pay, but we are all in our rights to think and say what we want.
Reviews? You gotta be kidding me, I thought it was common knowledge to not take reviews seriously in almost every entertainment domain, particularly in videogames. Big companies tend to bribe reviewers to put good reviews, and anyway, most will always think like the mass which isn't always the best thing.
Anyway, if things continues like they are, I may very well end up waiting months to buy a goty version of a game than waste my money (because videogames is really not my biggest investment and I don't like throwing away money) in tons of almost useless bits of content from tons of games, something I've done too much for my concience. Problem is I really like Mass Effect so I guess I'll end up dishing the cash...
