I hate DLC and this reinforce my point of view. I'm nostalgic of the days which when they released games, the were complete, no useless (although cool looking) armors, weapons or cheap squad member to get (Zaeed) or boring little side mission (Normandy crash site) were added later (paid or not). Paying for them is worse, because no matter what, it will never be worth the price because either the content was already made and probably cut because it was useless, or it will be way to short or limitative, or both. When they released new content, they actually waited till they got worthwhile and plenty of content which makes up a whole instead of small things which do nothing. Ok, the new squad member looks alright, it seems like she will be comparable to the others in terms of what you can do with her unlike with Zaeed, but I'm 100% positive it will be overpriced. Take Bring Down the Sky for example, useless and short (30 minutes, 40 max) of shooting gameplay (I want story, not something I did for dozen of hours) and they charged you 10 bucks. 10 bucks for not even an hour! I mean, if you'd take granted ME1 is 20 hours, it's like 2,5$ per hour.

So don't buy it.  Don't complain about it being overpriced while at the same time suggest that you're still going to buy it.

Also:  Don't buy DLC immediately and wait for reviews?  Only takes two or three days, if that.

It always makes me laugh reading comments like these. Yeah, I know I have a choice, one which I'll make, but that doesn't take anything from the fact that I have a head to think with so I have an opinion whether or not I find something to be a good idea. Look, I know some people like you are always like: then don,t buy it and always buy everything without thinking about it, at least, even if I may end up buying it, at least I would have thought about it and realized that it's still ripping off. I am in right to complain about this and think it's not right, you are still in right to think that if things are made in some way them it's sure to be the right thing, that whether or not the history tolds us men are greedy and merciless you'll still believe the government cares about you or EA cares about you and doesn't think about getting consumers to pay, but we are all in our rights to think and say what we want.

Reviews? You gotta be kidding me, I thought it was common knowledge to not take reviews seriously in almost every entertainment domain, particularly in videogames. Big companies tend to bribe reviewers to put good reviews, and anyway, most will always think like the mass which isn't always the best thing.

Anyway, if things continues like they are, I may very well end up waiting months to buy a goty version of a game than waste my money (because videogames is really not my biggest investment and I don't like throwing away money) in tons of almost useless bits of content from tons of games, something I've done too much for my concience. Problem is I really like Mass Effect so I guess I'll end up dishing the cash...

If they are as good as some of the Fallout 3 DLCs I'll pick them up. If it is more like Warden's Keep in DA I think I will pass. I couldn't care less about getting another playable character, the game had too many as it was. Ditto with items, armor, weapons. More missions are cool though.

I'd have preferred to get Kasumi's DLC for free, but I will buy this, simply because I like Bioware as a company and I believe they deserve my support.

Wow you fanboys really don't mind getting down on your knees for Bioware if you know what I mean.

I believe the correct response to them, if they're really going to charge everyone for this say is "F*ck you!"

They cut out alot of content from the game and have been giving it to us as DLC, this isn't the same thing at all as giving us brand new content, all of this was developed under their original contract with EA. They've already been paid for it or are being paid for it by us and by their publisher.

And before someone reminds me that Bioware says they didn't cut anything out of the game and rehash it as DLC it's called PR people. Bioware's own interviews about things like the Hammerhead says otherwise, that it wasn't in the final game because it wasn't ready, which means: they cut it from the final game. It was not developed after the fact, they just finished working on it while they racked in dough by releasing the game as it were.

Of course I have no doubt the content will be quality, unlike say...DRAGON AGE, a game that was rushed to release for the Holiday season. The price of that dlc was downright shameful, it should';ve been offered as an appeasement for making me pay $60 for a horribly unbalanced game that was full of annoying bugs and just overall not very polished.

Hm... I'll pay 7$ at most for this. And even then it's stretching it. For 60$ I got the collectors edition. That was about 30 hours of gameplay. So 2$ an hour. So really, if this is 1.5 hours, it's only worth about 3$. So really, 5 to7$ is a reasonable price.

You played the game through in 30 hours the first time? It took me nearly 50 . And why did you buy the collector's edition if you only play through it once?

Yes this is about how long the game should be for an average gamer, and those are the numbers video game companies go by. This is also exactly why paying anything more than about $1.50 for this DLC is asking for too much.

Its funny. We get all this free DLC and people complain. When we get our first DLC we have to pay for people aren't satisfied. What is with you people? I'm gonna buy the Kasumi DLC. BTW it was hard typing this on a cellphone.

It's to do with quality...

The free stuff is mainly weapons that are ok, armour that will never be used due to the helmet issue and missions that lack substance.

The paid stuff seems like it's also going to be lacking in substance.

That's why people are moaning.

I'll think about it, but afrer Pinnacle Station and what i've read so far about this DLC, i'll wait untill the reviews come in before getting it.

Which is a pitty really as I normally buy anything with the Bioware name on it the day it comes out, site unseen, but after what they did with ME2, i'm not doing that again.

Also... If this is DLC that has to be paid for then does this mean that Kasumi isn't going to be in ME3?

Afterall, not everyone is going to buy the DLC and you can't really import your save and all of a sudden know someone that you've never met.

I swear I read somewhere that 90% of DLC content was going to be free and released via the Cerebus Network...

As long as they keep supplying more free stuff via Cerberus Network, I will stop complaining about having to pay for future DLCs :D

Between now and April 6 I need to find out how exactly to buy MS space-bucks. I've never paid for DLC before.

We know that Kasumi has a skill that allows her to cloak, move behind a target, then reappear and attack. This is exactly something I hoped Thane had.

Bioware stated that Thane is an assassin that rather fights up close than from afar. So before ME2 came out, I was hoping for something like this, especially because Infiltrators could also cloak. But it turned out that Thane rather uses a sniper rifle and biotics, while in all the cutscene it's implied that Thane can hide(his loyalty mission, his recruitment mission, the CGI trailer).

I thought it was logical, as it would be hard to implement something like that to a squadmate. But now Kasumi has it. And I wonder why Bioware didn't gave something like this to their assassin.

Because Javier closed my topic(still don't think it's fair, because it was more about Thane than Kasumi ;) ).

400 points, TOPS. This isn't even remotely as large as F03 DLC, so don't start charging the same price for it.

The IGN article said that she would have dialog like Zaeed, but I'm not sure if this is correct so I'm asking around

I suggest a lower pay for all Cerberus Network holders.

Just for the first have to pay DLC.

Full price 1200 and Cerberus price 800(or both lower like 800/400).

"The Pitt" was 800 msp and it had many characters with dialogue trees.
