Why no MP coop?

"With all the whining about the lack of multiplayer, it seems we may just have a multiplayer coup in works"
Seriously I am GLAD there is no MP (though the ability to design the entire party would be cool. Maybe a mod that lets you create two (or more characters) then play through each of their origins and then meet up in the Grey Warden camp.

I'm actually not sure what the reason was for not including Multi-player in Dragon Age but I can say for certain it wasn't that the logistics made it impossible or even particularly difficult. I'm not saying network programming is easy by any stretch. But there was most definitely more behind their decision not to include it. This mechanics of this game aren't *that* different from the Baldur's Gate series.

Implementing MP (even if it's "just" coop) takes a good chunk of resources.
Resources that would be better spent on the sp campaign.
Ergo: Not every games needs MP. There are actually a lot of games (like DA in this instance) who would *suffer* from the implementation of MP.
I hope DA -or any of it's sequels- will never feature MP of any form.

Blame NWN. The design of conversations/cutscenes involved a lot of messing about to support other players.

If there was a reason for not including it within the engine, that would be my guess.. Consoles are a huge market. Given the choice between having multiplayer but not including consoles and not having multiplayer but including consoles.. I would have gone with consoles too from a business point of view. If that's the case, I completely understand, even if I would have enjoyed multi-player.

Actually I'm just guessing here, but I think perhaps the Consoles are to blame.. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against consoles. However I'm betting it's a moderately straightforward port from the pc to the consoles, but networking may be done entirely differently depending upon the platform. Multi-player rpg are actually pretty rare for consoles, in fact none are coming to mind although I'm sure there are some out there. I'm guessing that many of the networking libraries aren't cross platform and writing ones own from scratch would have been prohibitively expensive.

Hmm that sound like a very good point... But none of you have heard Bioware say anything specifik about it? Well except for the fact that they were planing a SP rpg game?
Would be interesting to hear them say why they did not make it mp, if it was about technical diffculties/limitations, resources, deadlines or whatever. Considering EA owns Bioware now, i doubt the problem would be with money/resources... or the come to think of it, the technical know how.
Still, with the toolsets out, maybe some crafty moder will be able to implement mp to the game.

Good only singlepayer RPG are rare? Isn´t that opposite? How about co-op RPG which would be same as Dragon Age-Origins? How many RPGs like Dragon Age-Origns are ready for co-op in singleplayer story? I know only-Dungeon Siege 3.
Everything other is just Diablo-clones,MMORPG or RPG type of Gauntlet
For singleplayer(RPG like Dragon Age)-Skyrim,Gothic 4,Risen,series Dragon Age,series of Mass Effect (Mass Effect 3 have multiplayer but not possiblity co-op in singleplayer story),Risen 2, Witcher 2,Fallout 3,Fallout-New Vegas,Kingdoms of Alamur,Jade Empire,Two World,Divinity 2:Eco Dragonis and maybe some others
Singleplayer with possiblity of co-op(RPG like Dragon Age)-in last two years only one game-Dungeon Siege 3 (now one year old) and possible Dark Soul (but question how co-op will look like)
Neverwinter Nights 2 was released 2006 (almost six years)
So I am desperaly ask-where are sngleplayer RPG type of Dragon Age which singleplayer story I can play in co-op? Bioware was company who based this hardcore singleplayer RPG with possiblity of co-op. It was also maybe only one company who made this - just look at series Gothic or Elder Scroll-always singleplayer. Games from Bioware wasn´t diablo-clones/gauntlet clone (or ARPG) and althought they have co-op, however nobody else haven´t it (atleast don´t make that type of RPG). Their RPG was very close to hardcore RPG genre and have co-op. But after Neverwinter Nights they stop....and there wasn´t almost nobody that made this type of RPG with so such singleplayer experience which you can do in co-op. Only Obsidian do something similar which we can named like hardcore singleplayer RPG with co-op option.Pitty-you were first and maybe only one Bioware who do this type of RPG where you can play singleplayer story in co-op.Congratulation Bioware, you helped to kill co-op in singleplayer RPG type of Dragon Age/Baldur´s Gate/NWN.

My playing of Lionheart-Legacy of Crusader, which is heavily influnced by Baldur´s Gate and Icewind Dale and with some mix of Diablo-I think this would be right co-op for Dragon Age series
Recommend play it from beginning to the end (it is quite long,I know, but then you have very complex picture)
Althought some videos are more then once, sorry for that, try it delete, but no luck
Now my channel was edited-some new videos+rid of double video
