What if Kasumi was a possible romance? WOULD SHE BE WORTH THE MONEY THE-
*Is chased out by Tali fans*

Well that would be a difficult romance to reconcile since it seems that she has no dialogue wheel.

that just speculation on your part but i hope that she does have a dialoge wheel

No, according to the preview, she doesn't.

Like Zaeed, another added character through downloadable content, you
can't actually engage in full conversation with her, she just talks at
you as you wander around her room.

If Kasumi will be really She-Zaeed character type... then sorry but i already got two other tech specialists (Tali and Legion) to do thier job in C-Base so will be very possible that Kasumi will NOT see Normandy 2 from the inside.

I think she is supposed to have overload and ai hacking and be trained as a sniper.

Well... when comes to skills:
Overload - Miri and Garrus (i give them both area overload... so synthetics or shields are no mach for them).
AI Hacking - Tali, Legion.
Sniper - Shepard (soldier in my case), Garrus,  Zaaed,  Legion.

So in reality Kasumi can be easy replaced by already egsisted squad members and that's made her "purchase" somehow pointless.

Why would I pay for a character I can't even have a conversation with?

You're paying for the bar. So shepard can get sloshed before every mission and/or hitting on crewmembers. Kasumi is just tacked onto the bar room.

And the all important chance to have more than two SMG's in the game. All hail the Locust SMG!*

*Which hopefully doesn't suck.

whats everyone willing to pay for the DLC, assuming you buy it?
(Your -willing to pay price and your ripping me off overcharge price?)

Payment price: $10-$15
Overcharge Limit:$20+
(I'm not familiar with the xbox points thing so i put mine in dollars...)
I Supose it depends on the quality. sounds good but quite short :pinched:

Tennyochan you should make (not telling you to, just suggesting) another thread asking this very same question it would be more specific and easy for bioware to see the cost that gamers are willing to pay for the DLC withoug sorting through all the riff raff.

I dont want to make one b/c 1. i dont know how.  2. i dont want to take credit specific thread that i did not nessecarilly come up with.

80 MS points= 1 dollar
400 ms points=5 dollars
800 ms= 10 dolars

reference to other games
Ballad of gay tony gta 4=1600 ms points 10+ hours
Point lookout fallout 3= 800 ms points 4-6 hours gameplay (not sure just from what i remember)
shadow complex (xbox live arcade)= 1200 ms points 12+ hours

actually the day 1 dlc was delayed a day so idk

Post-release delays are usually the result of errors in setting up the online network that a game will use.

Plain and simple, you're overthinking this.  Either the original game was worth the money, or it wasn't.  Either the DLC is worth the money, or it isn't.  That's all that matters.

This.

Simplification does not help the argument, though. Yes, you can pay for it or not, but the point still remains - why didn't they wait until after Kasumi to start charging? If they did, this wouldn't feel like a corporate foot-in-the-door ploy to set people up for the next paid DLC, whether bad or good.

Plain and simple, they are a business out for money.

It's not a good idea to see this as black-and-white; I would rather see it as EA trying to extract the most profit while BioWare is trying to please its customers. It's more like a war between developer and publisher, and the consumer gets shady results.

We're at war. No one wants to admit it, but the gaming industry is under attack.

While you've been developing, entire companies have been disappearing. Gaming companies. We believe it's someone working for the rEApers. Just as Activision and its shareholders aided Blizzard.

You've seen it yourself. You've bested all of them. That's just one reason we chose you.

I am under the impression that this is what's in the game files:
--Suicide Mission dialogue
--a placeholder model

That's it. It's missing:
--Additional dialogue
--Kasumi's actual model
--Kasumi's recruitment mission
--Kasumi's combat skills
--the new SMG
--the new loyalty skill
--an additional area of the Normandy

Incorrect. Not only is all her dialogue in the game, but the other characters are already recorded referring to her by name.

Example: If you take Kasumi to the Biotic God, she's the only one who thinks that he's cute and wants to keep him as a pet.

Combat/loyalty skills and weapons are very easy to design, on the other hand. The recruitment mission is missing, but you can bet that you'll probably see the same textures and the same Blue Suns/Eclipse mercenaries.

Screw all you cheapskates who are whining about paying for Kasumi. This is Bioware we're talking about here. If you're not willing to pay for DLC, you're not a true Bioware fan.

I know there's little chance of it, considering Zaeed's dialogue was already built into the game too, but I really wish that the DLC would come with a new voice actress for her.  From the audio I've ripped from this game and heard... not impressed.

Ahem. So does this mean Cerberus access code is not needed (in other words, it's completely useless) and all relevant content will be purchased as a mini-expansion would?

What the hell is a flash-bang grenade gonna do? I'm assuming it doesn't damage any kind of defense and we've already got a ton of better options for crowd-control.

Isn't it more likely that Kasumi's lines were recorded at the same time as everyone elses? That makes the most sense--if you have the actress who you want to do the voice of Kasumi already recording lines for the game, why not let her record Kasumi's lines at the same time? Packaging it on the game discs before shipping makes the DLC so much smaller to download when it's finally finished.

Regardless, everything that is currently on the disc that people are claiming is "half the DLC" is only dialogue, with a random placeholder model. This is not half of the content. You can call it "half" or "the majority" or "most of it" all you want, it does not make it so.

Zaeed's loyalty took less than 30 minutes once you realize that you can skip the final firefight by running to the back, shoot the disabled YMIR mech and run past the opened bridge to open the door.

How much would you say Return to Ostagar had in terms of original content, considering almost everything was recycled aside from Cailan's body and the limited voice acting?

Here, we have the opposite. Of course they would voice Kasumi along with the others, but unless her loyalty mission involves some novel theme like a royal palace in the middle of space, I doubt we're even going to be downloading more than half the content to enable it - because, like you said, they want a smaller download.

For all we know, the actual character and mission could already been in the files, but hidden. We'll have to see by the file size when the DLC comes out.

Arguing that using the same textures and enemy types that are in the game files isn't a fair argument. That's like me saying that players who play classes who mainly use SMGs are getting 50+ hours of new content from this DLC depending on how often they use the new SMG. Same for the new ability. If you're going to accept one way of thinking, you have to accept the other, because it's the same exact thing.

We'd expect a new mission from DLC to have a different feel and look, but at the same time we expect a new SMG to behave just like the other SMGs. Same with abilities - there's nothing drastically different from what a flashbang will do compared to some other abilities.

A new SMG is not necessary to 'complete the entire game', whereas a complete game will now comprise all missions including that new loyalty mission. People will judge the amount of content they get in terms of playtime gained; new weapons do not add to that time played.
