Art thieves and disguises? Sounds kind of cool. As long as she's got proper dialogue trees I'll be content.

With a dark hook, black eyes, and a cloaking ability, Kasumi is an intimidating character. In battle, she can also pull off the Mass Effect equivalent of a rogue backstab, as she cloaks, moves behind a target, then reappears and whacks the foe in the back of its head with your omni-tool.

I would love a squadmate with Incinerate and Overload, but I think that would make her cheaper than Miranda.

Maybe Tactical Cloak? Would be nice to see a squadmate run to cover without taking 20 bullets along the way.

I called it! Although it looks like she'll be getting herself killed if she uses cloak like that.

I don't see why anyone has to get all worked up over whether or not Kasumi is already in the disc we bought or whether it is fair to make us pay for it, or whether the evil EA is the real life version of the Illusive Man. The questions you have to ask are:

1) Am I happy with the game (ME2) for the money I paid for it?
If the answer is "no", then don't spend any more money on this series.
If the answer is "yes", then good! The developers, publishers and everyone else involved have done their job, regardless of whether they cut content or not.
Personally, I feel that for the price I paid for the game I bought at launch, I've enjoyed every cent's worth. You might feel differently, and if so, then don't buy the DLC.

2) Is the DLC worth the price?
We do not know how much it will cost, so we should reserve judgement on that. It is fair enough to say that one will check the reviews before buying. To say that we should get this DLC for free simply because the developers laid down the groundwork for this DLC and included some code in the disc is absurd. The content you are entitled to for the price of the game is what has been officially released and available for play, and not every single line of code that is on the disc.

If it was alright to fork over the price of the game for the advertised squadmates, content, etc, why would anyone feel entitled to more?

Some quick fan art in honour of the new theme of the DLC. I quickly did this on a free art program so it's not perfect.

I'll bet it'll be free for the Cerberus Network folks (like myself) I mean really, it makes no sense for them to make us pay 10 or so extra bucks for access to free DLC and then start charging us, especially since we know the Hammerhead pack is going to be free too.

Of course, that said, I'll gladly play the 10 bucks for Kasumi. I mean, we've been getting a lot of stuff so far. Bioware has NOT disappointed in the DLC department, just as they promised they wouldn't. I'll support them financially.

I don't get the ****ing about it being paid content. I mean I didn't expect any free content at all from ME2 and I've gotten a steady stream of it. Paid DLC was all I ever expected and when that content entails, new guns, armor, missions, and a new party member I'm glad to throw down the cash.

Hell I've got 7000 microsoft points burning a hole in my pocket anyway

I love how people keep on saying that she was already completed but have no proof. Boo hoo you have to pay for it. Hevan forbid we have to pay for content. The game is already fine as it is, do you want Bioware to pull a ME DLC on us again?

She was obviously intended to be part of the game, and a lot of her resources are already there.
If she was to be part of the game and not an extra, why charge us extra? Explain that please.

I am sure she was intended to be part of the game, but why are both DLC characters designed different?  They have no conversing dialogue like all the other characters.  They have no recruit mission(unlike everyone except the two you start with).  Seems to me Bioware planned for them to be DLC quite a while ago.

Like Zaeed, another added character through downloadable content, you can't actually engage in full conversation with her, she just talks at you as you wander around her room. then not worth it.

Funny. Playing with Zaeed in the party for a majority of a play-through there were several character specific scenes and remarks during the story mode just for him. I expect Kasumi to atleast have several of those herself as well. So she doesnt have any interaction on the Normandy itself. I dont know why people expect a character that was most likely always DLC planned to have game shattering moments.

Based on the quality of the ME 1 DLC, i believe that this DLC will be worth the price. (So long as the price is around $10.) Although, it is really quite hard to speculate a price i would pay for this 'new' DLC. Mainly due to the fact that i do not know how much more playtime it will give me.

But hey, that is just my two copper pieces.

Of course, it could just be that they put some of the voice files on the disc in order to make sure the download for Kasumi wasn't a massive one. Either way, day one purchase for me!

Stop thinking logically. You'll ruin all the whiners and jaded peoples arguments. How dare Bioward actually have planned DLC and put prep files on the discs to avoid massive downloads for the players.

I enjoy ME2. I'll definitely be buying this. To all the folks complaining that it won't be free: they're a business, they have to make money somehow. Frankly, I'm surprised the Hammerhead is going to be free.

It was discussed in another thread that the Hammerhead is most likely free because its a trial run of a idea. Being free it gives access to more people to try it and for BioWare to get player feedback on how it plays. If people like the new vehicle design they can focus on using it more in ME3. If people scream its even worse than the original Mako they can go back to improving on the Mako's flaws from before or drop the idea of vehicles in the third installment completely.

people seem to forget this is not a matter ih liking or not liking the content or being able to afford it or believing it is worth the price

it's a matter of principle really....if everyone just ignores/excuses these pratices and just silently bends over then the future of gaming is SFIV and AC2

SFIV was also guilty of locking alternate outfit colors, and charging for a code to unlock them. A really lame excuse to try and sponge money from players. The Kasumi DLC is atleast added content, powers, weapons, dialog. A little bit different than just making your character look different. Sure there are files on ME2 for Kasumi and other DLC. They planned on upcoming DLC. Putting some stuff on makes for faster easier downloading. Your not just looking at an unlock code though to get her available. Please dont ever compare BioWare to Capcom.

Your whole argument hinges on the assumption that the main game and DLCs operate under different budgets. A very shaky assumption, unless you can present proof.

So? If they cross a line, playes will let them know, by not buying their products. Not every Bioware customer believes they can do no wrong.
