- What programming? she's already in the original game, the data strings are already there.
- What writing? She doesn't even talk to you on the normandy, just sprouts out useless sentences like Zaeed.
- The person who voiced her propably did that in under a day, seeing she doesn't say anything on the normandy.
- Designing levels are easy and quick when you know what your doing and are creative.
- what artistry? she's already in the original game, she's been made.
Good lord some people are oblivious to game design. I'm sorry man, but you're completely ignorant if you think this kind of thing is not a big deal.
1) Yes, but do you know what those data strings do? I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if those data strings are there simply to allow Kasumi to be seamlessly integrated into the game, kind of a "lead-in." What's left over is all the programing that goes into her character AI and whatever happens on the loyalty mission.
2) What the hell do you mean "What writing?" Do you think Zaeed's talking points are generated by the game? Somebody had to write every single line she says, and they also have to write the script for what happens on her Loyalty mission. That's work.
3) How do you know how long it took? There are rewrites, multiple takes. The voice actor needs to get paid too!
4) This is complete and utter bull***t. Have you ever spent time designing level after level? It takes a great amount of work to figure levels out, especially if you have to redesign certain areas.
5) What artistry? Are you kidding me? Someone had to design the character; many people had to design her loyalty mission; texture artists were involved; modellers were involved.
Seriously people, do you think you can just say "I want a new character" and have that implemented without some serious hard work? Get real.
