This game doesn't seem quite right for you if all you are interested in is loot.

Phat lewtz is what makes any RPG worth its Epic-ness!
ahahahahaha
And DA:O will not differ, i'm sure.

Um... O.o

Nooo... Epic RPG's are made by story line, depth of character, and immersiveness.

Good thing when you try playing a game for loot you only get the average stuff.

Gonna have to learn the story make the right choices then have access to that loot

I'd say Torchlight is a better choice for the loot-driven player :)

One thing I'm enjoying about Jade Empire, which I'm playing atm for the first time, is the fact that there's NO ARMOR. You have an amulet which you can socket with three (exchangeable) gems, which give stat boosts, and shopkeepers sell gems and sometimes skills (which are like permanent stat buffs), training in particular fighting styles, and weapons (which come with associated fighting styles). You can also get a buff from your current companion.

So the character-development functionality of gear is there, but inventory management is basically eliminated as an issue. It's very freeing :)

Loot is great. But I go for immersion.

And then the zombie puppies and zombie kittens will have an all out war in-game and we will have to choose sides!

Ya know, aftering hearing Marilyn Manson in the official trailer for this game I wouldn't put it past them to put something like that into the game . Would be a lot of fun though :o

From the sneak peak at the advanced character profiles, there does seem to be epic loot available.

I like phat lewt. But I rarely suffer from a broken economy as I only sell what is necessary to but other stuff and the rest I always keep. It's mine. Noone can touch it!

I'm the kind of guy that doesn't understand people in pen and paper rpg's that use up some of their potential in character creation to start with good items. Items are temporary, or at least should be in most cases.

But experience and so on are a lot more permanent.

Items are interesting, but they are quite a lot of steps down the ladder in my mind than most of the "rewards" you get for accomplishing things.
