Paid DLC announced the "Kasumi" DLC

Known Info:

Release date is April 6th.
Kasumi is a character you recruit in the Citidel, she is a master thief and also at least half engineer (because she is a usable member to enter the ducts in the suicide mission.
Kasumi will have a unique ability called shadow strike where she will cloak and attack an enemy (probably similar to Grunts Charge.)
Her loyalty power is the Flashbang, no info yet on how that works.
There will be a new SMG.
At least half the mission is non-combat based while the other is combat based. The mission is supposed to be 90 minutes long.
Kasumi does interact with your crew, and will have a new room on the Normandy but will not have any dialogue with Sherpard. She will act similarly to Zaeed and just tell you stories about stolen art most likely.
You do not get to go to Earth YET.

Prediction for the new Armor: Dragon Armor-lite: 10% Power damage, 10% shields or health. Lets the player pick what kind of helmet.

Any speculations on what this flashbang ability may be?



My guess is, it'll be similar to Zaeed's grenade (on Shepard I mean) and it will cause some sort of disorient that stops enemies. Maybe it will even work through defenses /prays

I don't know what it could be... I mean Inferno Grenade already staggers all enemies regardless of defense and does damage.



If this grenade only staggers it will be totally overpowered. It would need to neutralize enemies for a longer-than-average time to be useful. Although staggering regardless of defenses would thematically perfect for a flash bang. Unless they program in a brand new animation of enemies being "blinded."



I am more curious what they are doing with a new SMG. Hard to believe that can make something that rivals the tempest. I mean... how much design space exists in SMGs really?

I really hope this grenade ability and SMG are worth it. Sometimes it feels like Bioware is intentionally making some of these bonus powers and weapons weak just so the people who didn't buy the game new won't complain. I know... I'm just being a preemptive negative nancy.

I'm curious what her abilities are. Also, if she can one shot enemies at melee range with cloak like the article says, they better add that ability to the infiltrator.



How awesome would it be to cloak and then one shot a krogan with your hands...

Another prediction: SMG is a 35 round crazy full auto mac-pistol that sprays wildly but does major damage close range. No one uses it. Collects dust next to incisor. People then discover that allies have perfect accuracy and mega headshot damage. Shepard's still collects dust next to it.



Or a vindicator-lite...

CC isn't good anymore?

Since this is a grenade power like Zaeed's, I'm hoping for at least something that incapacitates enemies for 6 seconds in a 4.5m radius regardless of defenses with a 9s Kasumi cooldown and 6s Shep cooldown.

Gotcha, should have paid more attention to the "more" in your statement.

And i probably am hoping for too much, but logically it makes sense.  
4.5m radius and 9s cooldown are what Zaeed has for his grenade when maxed.  
The effects of Zaeed's grenade last for 4 seconds and damage, so 6 seconds without damage seems reasonable.
There is no logical way for the armor and shields on the vast majority of enemies in the game to protect against optical assault (only some have tinted visors), so the power affecting enemies with defenses seems reasonable.

But yeah, sadly it probably won't happen.

That does make sense. Like I said before though, it seems like these bonus items, whether they're squadmates or weapon/armor are usually pretty crappy. Zaeed's grenade, while unique, kinda sucked later on due to it not being affected by upgrades. I really don't want to see the same skill repeated, minus the fire.

Honestly, I don't get it. Why not just make Kasumi's power a tech skill, make it damage barrier or stun things regardless of defenses like you suggested and it'd be awesome.

Maybe I'm alone on this but I hope they offer the original N7 armor from ME1. The same one you wear during the character creation screen in ME1 (the medium, not the light onyx). That's still my favorite armor in the series and it looked great in the prologue.

Looks like another non-combat mission. A breath of fresh air if you ask me.



Not sure how a squaddie is going to have some kind of stealth-kill ability... I mean, aren't they WAY too stupid to even pretend to attempt something like that? Maybe it's something she will do at random like Grunt's I-AM-KORGAN charge attack.

Or possibly it's like Grunt's charge ability.

That'd be cool. She just instantly stealth kills enemies that get too close.
