i will pay anything if BioWare makes something for ME2. The more money they charge, the higher quality
You're the kind of person who makes EA's bean counters very, very happy.

If you aren't willing to pay for it, you don't need it, do you?
I've never felt that every single bit of content developed for the game after release should only be for this purpose, or that implementing the Cerberus Network would mean that all DLC for ME2 was going to be free.
The EAsive Man: Shepard. You're making a habit of costing me more than just time and money.GothamLord wrote...
Sadly BioWare/EA is like the Shepard/Cerberus situation. "I'm here for you Shepard, Not Cerberus"

I can't speak for others, but my main issue with the idea of Kasumi being pay for DLC is that Zaeed was free and Zaeed had about as much content as Kasumi appears to, based on various descriptions. Quite honestly, without a dialog wheel for Kasumi on Normandy, I'm not sure she's worth my money.
It's not that all DLC should be free, it's that this particular DLC is shaping up to be Zaeed 2.0, and Zaeed was free.

While I do not condone EA's practices Zaeed being free and Kasumi costing money is a good marketing stragety. In order to have a "full" crew you need to pay for one and either need to have purchased the game new or purchase the Cerberus Network which gives your Zaeed. So they get you with the full game price + 560 MS points (If the Mass Effect Wiki is to be believed) or atleast the 1200 + 560 MS points if you get the game used, in which its the only income that EA/BioWare sees for the game.

Awesome! You know i see/read a lot of people complaining about having to buy DLC. Maybe I’m just older than some of you (31) but i don’t see what the problem is. They provide a service, I’m happy to pay to use that service. It’s fair.
You know if it was horse armor for $5 sure, I’d be pissed, but if the price is worth the content then what’s the problem?
Incidentally Vanguard is brilliant, but on insanity, it’s insane, but fist pumpingly awesome when you get past a tough spot.

just a thought... you do realize you pay about 20$ for a two hour dvd right? So what is so wrong with paying around 10$ for a one hour interactive visual experience?
Believe me I hate parting with money too, but considering the amount of work that is involved with making this stuff I would say a ball park estimate of 10 bucks is more than fair.
Well that would be relevant IF we were talking about a 10 minute add on to the movie (10 minute add on to movie kinda equals 1 hour add on to a 35 hour Video game)
Fact of matter is I already paid my $70.00 (roughly) for the game. Just like I paid $20.00 (or less) for the DVD.
I have no problem paying $20.00 for a 90minute+ movie that typically costs 100+ million to make (I dont buy many DVDs, jusat the good stuff). Just like I have no problem paying $70.00 for a 35 hour game (although thats my limit as I strongly beleive in the $1 for 1 hour ration with price and no one to date has been able to resonably detract that ration standard).
As I said thou, we not talking about a 35 hour hame, we talking $7.00 for a 1 hour add on. If Bioware spends 50 million dollars (like the movie you revering to) to create that add on, ill pay the $7.00 but we both know full weel they didnt even spend $500,000 to create this add on.
I will pay $2.00 (thats my max price) for a 1 hour add on. Thats noty being cheap either, thats being RESPONCIBLE. Based on DA:O (which granted sold better then ME2) numbers, typical Bioware DLC gets downloaded 1.5 million times. So lets say 1,250,000 for Mass Effect. At $2.00 a download thats $2,500,000 paid. Now DLC is cheaper to make then a new game cause you already have engine, you already have tool set, you dont need to worry about packaging (as its all digital), its dirt cheap to make. I guarentee you they clear 2 million profit if they sold this for $2.00.
To me, thats enough mark up and reasonable mark up. I dont buy a loaf of bread for $10.00 cause the farmer wants a 600% mark up, why would I do that for a video game company?
Bioware and other companies need to learn that DLC is not some right to print money, THEY have responcibilities as well and 1 hour or 1.5 hours of content at $7.00 isnt even coming close to meeting their own responcibilities to their customers.
Fact is we already forked out good money for the game, for the first game, for the novels, for the comics. When is it enough for Bioware and EA and they give us something SUBSTANCIAL back for our dollar spent?
Im not asking for something outragious either, Ill gladdly pay $1.00 for every hour of content they give us and if they throw in INTERACTIVE (not point and click Zhaees nonsence) conversations with a fully voiced over and COMPLEXE character, Ill even go as high as $2.00 for every 1 hour of content to meet the extra costs.
So to answer your original queary. I agree to pay $10.00 for every hour of movie currently. But you are agreeing to pay $70.00 for every hour of movie content with Biowares current pricing plan for this DLC.
Sorry but I think your crazy. I wont pay $140.00 for a 2 hour movie and I wont pay $245.00 for a 35 hour video game cause THATS what your agreeing to $7.00/hour of content works out to.
and Ill be as bold as to say, im pretty sure most adults who pay their own way and pay their own bills agree with me on this. So far looks like its the kiddies with no money/value sence saying any cost is worth it. They will smarten up in time when they grow up years/decades from now.
And Bioware, personally im 110% against piracy of any type, be it music, video games, art, what ever. But you must know that by pricing this stuff so insanely with such a high mark up, your just giving people a excuse to look for pirated copies of the DLC. Restraunts run at a 25%-30% (sometimes even higher then that) house cost to plate cost pricing. Why should the video game industry be so different!
Make a good product and the masses will buy it and you will make your money on quanity. Cause you keep overpricing this stuff and your market will dry up. mark my words. People complained when you charged them full price for a 20 hour Jade Empire game. What makes you think they wont complain when you charge then 1/10th the cost of JE for 1/20th the product!
Not sure who doing your math for you but it DOESNT WORK!
