I agree. I may find them despicable, reprehensible, revolting, diseased, genetically deficient, inferior, disgusting, unnatural, immoral or deviant - but I don't hate them.

So in the end it all boils down to genetics again?

Damnit.

If it is genetic, won't homosexuality breed itself out? (EV-A-LOO-SHUN) so you shouldn't hate gay people! they're endangered! we need a breeding program here people!

I am now pro gay/anti lesbian. that way I get all t3h ch1x!!!

NEWSFLASH: Lots of gay people have children.

Just look at Republican Senator Ashburn who has a family and kids and just came out after being busted leaving a gay bar.

Having the genetics to be gay doesn't mean that 1) you realize it or 2) accept it.

I always find it amusing how so many anti-gay people in congress are outed. :D Its hysterical.

True. We also have to remember all those that are closeted. For example, you'd think that the preferences of a pedophile would have similar results in the long term, but a common genetic disorder may prove extremely hard to weed out, if selective breeding isn't practiced over innumerable generations.

What do you expect? It's congress. Whatever any senator says expect the exact opposite.

Yet someone say that about say a black person and they do hate black people.

Ah...good old fashioned double standards. <_<

Heck replace that with woman/insert race/insert person here

and all of a sudden its hatred! :o Who'd da thunk?

thought it was implied but just for you: /sarcasm :P lol

on this topic have you heard about how the church used to force homosexuals to fight it: settle down, have kids then it turned out it may be genetic and they were like "oh... oops..." lol

"Hate" implies murderous rage. I'm thinking more of a "solemn disdain".

Yet homophobes continue to shrug it off when you point out the data that they tend to be gay in greater numbers than non-homophobes.

Denial can be a powerful thing.

In the interest of humour, the original intent of this thread, I will now post a breif stint from a book I have been reading.

"In my former life as a marketing database analyst, I had a coworker who used an exclamation point with every sentence. He sounded like he was on meth! No one liked the guy! Probably not coincidentally, he did the least work in the group!
One day we felt bad for the guy because he had some genuinely tragic news: his grandfather passed away. We comforted him. We felt for him. He E-mailed the larger group (fifty-plus colleagues) to tell them that he'd be out of the office to attend services.
Guess how he started the e-mail?
'Hi All: My grandpa passed away! I'll be out of the office for the funeral!'"

Lulz. Why people can't live and let live I'll never understand. As long as no one is being hurt by their actions I could care less what someone does in the privacy of their own home. (Then again I'm against PDA in general no matter who does it. I don't want to see two men make out or two woman any more than a woman and a man. And frankly it disgusts and revolts me when any couple decides to play tonsil hockey where I can see them.)

Holding hands annoys me too...as does that stupid kissing on the cheek and giggling. Apparently because it makes me uncomfortable it should be banned.

Oh noes.

Ryzaki ,

Most probably have been gay for awhile , and I think they always assume they were just having a tough time.I think it was him that he got divorced and his wife left him with the kids.I only assume that not having to fulfill a role , he went back to what he had always wanted to be.

I think most don't say anything because they don't want an uphill battle trying to get elected , it's easier to think and be straight be elected.

I'd like to see some solid data on that, because as far as I'm aware, that's some kind of gay-circle urban legend that keeps being repeated as fact. I'd also like a solid definition of "homophobe" for the purpose of establishing said data.

Considering homophobia is an invented and nonexistent condition, this makes no sense whatsoever.

Maybe it is real phobia in some cases, but not the vast majority of people who get labelled as homophobes by indoctrinated college students merely for thinking homosexuality is wrong.

Uh its one thing to hide your gay. Its another to pass anti-gay laws and pretty much be all "gays shouldn't have x rights!" and be on the DL. I'm talking about number 2.

Then look it up, I'm not going to google it for you. It's been posted here before. There have been years upon years of studies that have shown that people who proclaim to dislike gayness the most are arroused at images of gay sex more than non-homophobes.
