Slave owners treated their slaves as animals, some treated them relatively well kept them fed and healthy. While others beat, raped, killed, and generally weren't very nice! for the record I obviously think slavery was wrong and evil, just saying that as it wasn't considered evil or wrong then you didn't have to be evil to own slaves...

So you don't have to deal with people who be trollin. Its more of a human nature thing. Get in a group with a bunch of likeminded people and keep those who don't share your views out of it so you can be left in relative peace.

Asari NEED either another male/female to reproduce.  Whether that male/female is another asari, krogan, human, or what have you, it does not matter.  

An animal capable of parthenogenesis does not need a mate.

I'm finding this whole debate on the Asari to be rather interesting.  Human genders and gender roles (Yes, they are two very different things) are being used to describe an alien culture. 

They are gender neutral when it comes to sexual reproduction since they can mate, and produce offspring with, either a male or a female.

As for thier gender roles, that too seems to be neutral.  Which, since they are all one gender, or no gender, that makes sense.  They have no roles that are traditionally male, nor female. 

It seems that individuals are claiming the Arari are female simply because they have a feminine look to them.  Looking female and being female are, once again, two very different things and being one does not necessarily mean that the other is true.

Since the Asari have no female gender, they can not be female.  They can only be feminine looking. 

There can be no fem/fem relationship with an Asari just as there can be no male/fem relationship.  There can only be "alien species, gender variable"/Arari relationships.

So, any arguements against a FemShep/Arari relationship because they are the same sex falls apart because, simply, they aren't the same sex.
