Oh dear. This is going to get ugly quickly, I suspect, so I'll say my piece while there's still a veneer of civility.
On the off chance that you're sincere in your desire to have a reasonable discussion, I have to ask why you think a gay/lesbian romance in ME3 would be a bad thing. You presumably wouldn't be forced to participate. You have no more right to say that gay people should avoid you because they make you feel disgusting when they look at you in 'that way' than I do to, say, demand that you never leave your house because you make me uncomfortable. Put bluntly, your discomfort is nobody's problem but your own, and to expect other people to do without the things they want to appease you is unreasonable.
I don't understand what line it is that needs holding. Are homosexuals going to make gay marriage mandatory, dissolve heterosexual unions, and steal all the children? I seriously doubt it.
What possible impact could Shepard's sexual orientation have on his ability to save the galaxy? And if the answer is 'none', then why should a homosexual relationship be excluded? I'm not suggesting that it needs to be included, but I see no reason why it can't be.
