I hear you - I'm not a huge fan of providing metagaming data to the player, though. The whole "Paragon"/"Renegade" option kinda bugs me. My counter-proposal would be to make relationships a bit less auto-triggered by having a clearer framework - you could have a discussion with someone that you seem to be getting close to where you're explicitly given an option to continue to pursue a romance or to express your disinterest. Substantively it's not very different from what you're suggesting - my preference would just be to avoid adding more metagaming data to the dialogue system. As long as the dialogue options were clear in their summaries I think it'd work just fine.

Only quick posting to see if this is another flame war topic about morons who care about video game relationships and what people's opinions are about sexuality has caused a large argument about open minded people and preference.



I support not putting in Same sex relationships, only at the expense that relationships in general are a secondary feature, that a good storyline and a solid combat system (we've had two so far) are what Bioware should focus on before putting in any relevant relationships. By no means do I give a damn what people like, but the emphasis that everyone is crying that they don't have what they want is annoying, that it sounds like you're whining that you're preference isn't a primary arrangement.



If they do put it in, more power to you guys, but I do not want to see more useless crap when I play the game, my priority of killing everything will not be jeopardized when I play a Sci-fi game about saving the damn galaxy.

BioWare will do whatever they feel like doing with the Mass Effect series. Irrespective of what either this group or the pro-same-sex relationships wants in ME3.
