Cannot DL it. This is what I see:

And no, Steam doesn't allow you to get dlc through steam for bioware games. You always have to use bioware's site to get DLC and patches for bioware games. I've DLd my mass effect DLCs fine, as you can see the download link shows up. I've registered my game cd key

Dragon Age itself is designed to only download DLC through the game. And Steam is notorious for only working with the patches it itself downloads, and automatically downloading patches. In fact its automatic update of a few days ago when Patch 1.03 was released can cause some problems with the DLC system.

First verify the integrity of the Steam Game Cache
* Game tabs - Right click Dragon Age - View Downloadable Content - Local Files - Verify

Second verify that your Dragon Age Origins Content Update service will start.
1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER
2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.
3.) Right click it and select START

If the service doesn't start, try running the DA Update Service Diagnostic Beta

Thirdly, once you've verified that the service will start, start Dragon Age, login with the email address and password for your account here, and go to Downloadable Content->Download Progress. You should see the DLC there starting to download.

Thanks actually it was the log-in server annoyance that prevented me from downloading the content in-game the first time through. Looks like this was a non-problem, i checked and everything's installed now. Thats for the awesome answer though, I wouldn't have re-checked.

Just posting to say thanks to Kepha for the solution. I too couldn't figure out how to get the DLC on DA:O from Steam. It's downloading fine now having followed your steps - many thanks.
