Man, I can't believe my PC won't boot up Windows when I installed the Toolset. The installation stalled when the SQL DB was installing and then my PC gives me the dreaded Blue Screen of Death.

Tried booting up my PC and 10 seconds of use (whether or not I log a user in) the BSoD appears again.

If you care to help, here's what I've got:

Windows XP SP2
Dragon Age: Origins 1.03
Character Creator
Stone Prisoner DLC
Blood Dragon Armor DLC
Lucky Stone DLC
Toolset 1.01

Did I screw up somewhere?

Note: Using the office PC to make this post.

it's the MS SQL installation that gone wrong, blame MS for not having a stable installer. so bootup your PC in safe mode and restore the computer.

Hmmm... What doubles my problem is that my keyboard doesn't wanna work during boot up. I'll have to take it to a professional to get things straight.

Should I keep trying again until the installation goes well? I really have big plans with the Toolset.

No. I'm pretty sure it's vital that you update WinXP to SP3 before you try to install the toolset because of the MSSQL server installer. I don't recall if it's on the wiki or in a forum sticky that mentions it... but it could probably be a bit more prominent.

Well... better go have it upgraded to SP3 then. Going to look for a new MoBo since I took it to three repair centers and they all give me the same result: "your MoBo's USB ports don't work during boot up, even when we use the jumper bypass."

Instead of shopping for a new motherboard right away, maybe first use a PS/2 keyboard (the older one - green purple connector with pins, if you still have one around) to take a look in your BIOS and see if there's any option for "legacy USB support"... worth a shot anyway.

That's also presuming your system still has a PS/2 port - and it'd probably be a lot cheaper to fix your problems using a PS/2 keyboard than a new motherboard anyway...

Nope. I got no PS/2 ports in this MoBo to start with. I overlooked that detail when I shopped for some MoBos way back for my Intel QuadCore.

if the MOBO doesn't have PS/2 it must read the USB and work with any plug and play keyboard that doesn't require specific drivers.

and no you don't need SP3, but SP2 is required.I have it working on win XP Pro -64bit SP2 computer aswell as a in win7 home 64bit laptop.

use your windows/recovery disks if nothing else works. or install another OS on a new partion so you can repair it from there. either another windows install or linux.

I'm good shape now. I'll try installing the toolset in another time. I was in technology paralysis for a week! :D
