Ahisgewaya please stop sucking up to Dethanos, if he wants to attack me by all means. I dont really care how you percieve my writing because your agaist my point of view anyway, it makes no difference if i call you a tool, a --wad or a knave.

As for Genocide, I think it is a natural way to separating the strong from the weak like yourself. Mercy for people is just like handing a cake to your family and letting them take 3/4 of it so they can live. Its a Waste of resources and prevents humans from Archiveing greater results.

First of all it makes a big difference, as you seem to be too stupid to even know what those things are. Humanity is a social animal, and if you truly think the way that you claim to you'll die cold and alone, which I suspect is what will happen to you. I wouldn't be surprised if you're a methhead somewhere. Enjoy your fall to the gutter. I'm not even slightly weak. I've done things that I have no doubt would kill you. Anyway, you're an idiot, and I'm through talking to you. Go **** yourself.

Ah, Babylon 5. Great series, and has one of the best reasons to never support Bhelen--if you do the right thing for the wrong reasons, your cause becomes corrupt.

Question: why are we comparing in world religions to Thedas's? Sure, they're based partly, but only partly. Comparing them as if they were the same thing would be folly. They're influences, nothing more. Qunari are not enlightened muslims--they are brutal conquerers. The Chantry is not some corrupt establishment selling off entires into the afterlife and hunting down witches an--okay, bad comparison, but you know what I mean.

On an unrelated note, all wars on Earth are caused by one of the following in common: land, money, religion, and the British.

I found the Chantry to be annoying in general. That may be one of the reasons why I really dislike Leliana (and even Wynne to a degree); they're too steeped in a system I find abhorrent. Regardless of whether I'm playing as a mage or one of my permutations as a rogue, I tend to be extremely nice to most people, but the Chantry brings out my inner witch.

The Chantry itself has a lot of parallels with any dominant religion in any land. A pretty opening story until we went and pissed off their version of Maker, there's someone that the main god loves (Andraste, Jesus, Muhammad, etc) but he's sort of 'lol w/e idiots' to the rest of us, and we have to spend the rest of eternity sucking up to them. At least that's what the main church says.

I actually really despise the way they treat both Templars and Mages. Both I find are trapped; while Alistair and the mage PC are the most obvious examples, the posessed Templar in the Circle quest was a little heartbreaking. I got the feeling that a lot of Templars were dumped into orphanages/monastaries and then pressed into service. Obviously not all are- Bann Alfstanna's brother being an example- but it just seemed that way. It seems like the Chantry is more interested in control. I wish there was a boon option that severely curbed their power in Ferelden.

I think that is not an accident that the Chantry and the Christian religion have many things in common, and it's nice that BioWare made it a very questionable thing, not pure and right, maybe they want people to think about it's good and bad sides.

I don't believe in any higher power or any religion, but i don't mind if others do, until they force it on others, or take other people's freedom/land/things because they belief makes it justified. And that's what happened in the DAO universe (and in real life of course but don't want to ****** off anyone) with the mages, the elves etc. Also blinde belief in the Chantry makes people stronger in a way, like they can pray to the Maker or trust in him in really bad situations (like the attack on Redcliffe) but in peace it's a bad thing at all cause people will fear mages and the dalish and other things just because the revered mother or any templar or religious figure tell them to.

So as an answer to the original question i think the Chantry is bad just as bad the old Tevinter religion was.
