Ah, yes... "BIG CHOICES"...

Personally I'd prefer the togh choices. And the "suicide mission" should have at least three Virmire choices, to make it plausible and ... well "emotionally engaging".

But it seems that most of people prefer a fairy tale with "happily ever after" happy ending.

I want the "happily ever after ending as one choice. I usually don't do  the med upgrade but at least one play thru I want everyone to survive.

I agree. Having the less than perfect ending as an option is fine, but I don't want to be forced into it or have to consult a walkthrough because the method of getting a happy ending is convoluted and arbitrary.

If they can come close to Wing Commander with the scale of Babylon 5, I think they've got a shot at doing something...interesting...

Well the devs have said that ME3 can differ from player to player tremendously because its the last game and they dont have to transfer the choices from ME3 into a ME4. So ME3 endgame can be very different based on all the choices thru the trilogy.

People who are stuck on the "suicide mission" thing seem to forget the reason the mission, to stop the collectors, get's that name in the first place: THE OMEGA 4 RELAY. No ship has ever made it back, but then you are given the Reaper IFF. That changes the odds, so at that point, it really isn't a "suicide" mission, just highly dangerous.

And while you can save "your crew"--how is it a fairy tale ending, when numerous colonists are processed and the Reapers are still on the way? Maybe it isn't as gut-punching and personal as the loss on Vermire, but even in my "no one left behind" run, I still felt bad. There is one npc crew man who mentions his brother was taken, but no worries, Com Shep will get hm back, get them all back. Well, Com. Shep., wasn't quite that good.

And for a casual player, it isn't necessarily all that obvious what you need to do to get that No one left behind, especially the timing issue with leaving for the last mission. I'm sure many people playing the game will unintentionally lose crew or squad, and feel things are dark. For those who wanted more pain, well, you can skip the loyalty missions, fail to upgrade etc, and enjoy.

I'm glad they didn't just repeat the Virmire gimmick, and I was satisfied.

I agree Peppard. Having our favorite characters die isn't inherently deeper for the storyline.

Angst is often a poor substitute for sloppy writing. Play ME the way you want to play it. Tell the story you want to tell. BioWare has given you the framework to create a tragedy-filled ending, should you want to. Use that framework.

That's preferable to forces us into deplorable endings and nonsensical choices.
