lets just say you find gifts as in origin to alter approval - very stange gifts actually...

But what about Oghren though? Does he start with 0 approval all over again? Because that would be really, really lame. So much for "desicions matter".

Yes, he starts with a neutral rating.  He doesn't keep his equipment either and enters the game with a legion of the dead Armour and some other magical items.

Ok so Oghren start with other equipment, but what about his specialisations, talents, skills and attributes? Does he keep the ones you have selected for him in DAO or would we have to respec him if we want to keep him as he is supposed to be?

propably it's a completely new character because awakening is a stand alone module. the only character that gets imported is your pc. so i guess you have to respec him ;)

Oghren always starts the same way - it does not matter how you specced him before. Also, the powers from the Warden keep DLC no longer work in Awakening.

öhm i got the real deal... and my retailer changed the release date from 16 to today... but he didnt send me any promotional codes that ****

ps: do you want to know all the skills from the specializations? eh eh eh

Um..retailers have NOTHING to do with development and official dates, in other words he decided to get the run on his competitors and started selling Awakening copies early......official release date is the 16th of March in North America ..and the 19th of March in Europe (far as I remember)

So yeah..your retailer jumped the gun to get early sales, retailers do that sort of thing, they ALSO lie about "release dates".   They don't know more than the developpers.     Retailers have nothing whatsoever to do with making games.    Just selling them for profit.

I thought the blood powers were supposed to carry over??? :?

anyway now that some people have the game already, I'm going to stay out of these forums till I get the game and finish it... I don't want a troll to spoil the whole game for me.

I was able to buy Awakening in a store today here (Switzerland).

Anyway, I can say a few thing about the importing process: the game lets you choose between all your characters; there is an "advanced" option that lets you choose between individual save games (including those before the ending of Origins). I was happy to find items from RtO in my inventory, too.

So its nice to know the import feature works..for all endings except one anyways.

Its all about money and who gets it first....with retailers.   I am very surprised they are allowed to do this..oh well, guess once its in their hands, there's little Bioware can do about them..jumping the gun

Hasnt anyone ever heard of shops selling games early? There's a shop in my town that sells me everything early, got DA, ME2, Bioshock 2, Lost Odyssey, FF13, GoW2, MW2 (The list goes on) at least 3 -5 days before official release, I actually got Lost Odyssey 2 weeks before the UK release and completed it the day of release :P

...for those with the game...

How have you found the new enemies so far?

Are there many bosses? (Don't need specifics spoiled)

Are the encounters more varied than DAO? I saw one of the video clips actually had two Hurlock Alphas in the same fight for instance.

Thanks in advance.

well, the original dragon age origins was released about a week late in switzerland, so we deserve the addon a week earlier!

and yes, RTO items are in the game, but everything vom other addons doesnt seem to appear in awakening, including the blood powers, sadly.

When you're done waiting another few days just to find out I'm right, don't come crying to me. I'd upload it to YouTube, but I'm not risking my Original Directors account. (one of the few who can post videos longer than 10 minutes...)

Eh? I'm not doubting you or anyone in this thread if what I'm getting from this post is right. I just think its hilarious for some reason. :?

Oh I'm sorry I thought you were replying to me saying I was such an epic troll...My bad. I'm still dismayed and overall pissed about paying $40 for an expansion that expands upon the worst parts of DA:O.

What do you think the expansion should have expanded on then? What did you like most about DA:O that is not in Awakening?

after 3 hours in the game, I can tell you the encounters seem to be exactly like the ones in origins. the bosses and named mobs did not have special abilities and I was not able to find anything new or interesting in combat, compared to the original. and I play on hard.
but yes, sometimes there are 2 alphas in a fight, but you start out as a lvl18+ character (i was 23 at the beginning) and its not difficult at all. but i'm a bloodmage so the game is very easy anyway.

Yeah thought the Devs stated the blood powers would carry over..matter of fact it was Fernando Melo who stated that..wasn't it??    Geeez.

I wonder what other things aren't as originally stated.  Guess I'll find out in three days.

Those who have bought the game early in the U.S. (note not ultimate sacrifice) could you tell us what store you bought it at? I'm about to go looking.

For the most part it seems, the retailers in Switzerland and Germany...started selling their copies early...I am guessing that "official release date" means nada to them.

usually our games are released at the exact same date ar in the U.S. and retailers are not allowed to sell the games before the street date, and the dont.

but i guess someone at EA switzerland made a mistake and the game was shipped early, with no strings or contracts attached.

Wow... so he starts with 0 approval? That's a really stupid thing for Bioware to do. It's not the matter of gifts, but it completely ruins the story continuation and overwrites your decisions.

No wonder they couldn't bring Leliana/Zevran back, and this is why they probably never will(along with everyone else really). Is this incompetence or just laziness?

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to answer.

So...now things are starting to come to light..it wasn't only the .."ultimate sacrifice"  I guess that one was the easiest to figure out, because it affects those of us who care about that ending..NOW,  I can't wait to see what happens when the flood gates open and other things,  not to people's liking,  are revealed.

*shakes her head*   I dunno Bioware...I hope for your sake that most are satisfied with what they bought..in the aftermath..or this isn't going to be fun times on the forums for awhile.
