Wow... so he starts with 0 approval? That's a really stupid thing for Bioware to do. It's not the matter of gifts, but it completely ruins the story continuation and overwrites your decisions.
No wonder they couldn't bring Leliana/Zevran back, and this is why they probably never will(along with everyone else really). Is this incompetence or just laziness?
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to answer.

That's not the point.. He ends up with Felsi in some saves. What if you ended up messing up his companion quest in origins and now he hates your guts?Vim wrote...

Your companion approvals are stored in the save file. They're easily viewed if you pull one of your saved games into the toolset. So they're there if the designers wish to use them. Without playing the expansion myself I can't really say with any certainty why they didn't use the old score for Oggy, but I wouldn't be surprised if Oggy scales a little differently, ie. rather then adjusting the approval system so that he can go above 100, a 0 for him probably doesn't mean the same thing as it does for those characters you're meeting for the first time. He did name his child after you so I'd be really surprised if he behaved in a completely neutral manner towards a returning warden just because he has a 0 approval score.

after 3 hours in the game, I can tell you the encounters seem to be exactly like the ones in origins.
the bosses and named mobs did not have special abilities and I was not able to find anything new or interesting in combat, compared to the original. and I play on hard.
but yes, sometimes there are 2 alphas in a fight, but you start out as a lvl18+ character (i was 23 at the beginning) and its not difficult at all. but i'm a bloodmage so the game is very easy anyway.

enemies are pretty much the same at least in the beginning - but they use powers more it seems (they seem to especially love shield bash and other shield attacks which is really annyoing)
there is a boss very early in the game, but isn't really hard

No matter how you treated him in origins he ends up being your buddy and he named his child after you and his approval is back to zero.... how lame.
How exactly are the decisions of my character carried over? Oghren is the only companion we have from origins and yet he can't even recognize if he likes you or hates you. Is this what I'm supposed to expect for my other companions as well? Or are they gonna take the easy way out and never reveal them again because they can't work around with a simple approval meter?

Damn. That means having to defeat the Archdemon again? And doesn't disabling mods screw up your Origins game? I don't really know how to properly disable/uninstall current mods and such.CybAnt1 wrote...
I *suspect* the game install disables all your mods -- the non "official" DlC ones anyway.
Some DlC does carry over -- they said Power of Blood would, but it looks ... bugged? (Patch?) All your RtO items will, they said so (unless Nemesis or others want to disconfirm).
I strongly suggest you disable the non-cosmetic ones even if the game install doesn't. Some won't work because they are origins-specific. Others might not play nice with the new game files.
Wait for the mod authors to confirm their mods are compatible, and esp. if they're not, to release new versions that are. I know I will.
Edited to add: do not leave anything in a party storage chest in Origins! You cannot go back to Warden's Keep or anywhere else in Origins while playing Awakening. Do a very quick "cache run" before you play DAA.
And, BTW, sell all non-RtO DlC for gold, you might as well, they won't carry over, but your gold will.
Some mods are about to become obsoleted: Respec (unless spending the 6 gold for the tomes really chaps you), Stamina Potions, etc. They've become part of the game.

So, are there people here from the U.S. saying they bought the game early? Curious, because any retailer who vilates an SOS (strict on sale) date can be royally sued by the vendor.

Probably can't do anything about the retailers in Europe ..unless there is some sort of international law that governs that ....depends I guess if EA wanted to pursue it.
