You have given me hope. Thank you. No I screwed up my game with a mod, and had to delete all characters because of it. Ohh i'm really mad right now. But I'm working on another one. What is your suggestion for class, etc?
I had fun with all the new specializations. But i guess if i had to pick one probably shield warrior for the LMAO factor. Little noble woman going juggernaut on many darkspawn = epic win!

Troll? lol. Men don't like Alistair. Women do. I will miss him in Awakening. This is my opinion. Whats the excuse for my dog? His voice actor couldn't have cost too much.
Actually I think they said for dog...anytime you see him interact its a cut-scene..I would imagine each one takes time and money. Anyways that was the reason given...it was due to what it takes to create cut-scenes for him.
Doesn't mean I am not going to miss my Dog however.

It would blow DA for me if they totally mess up the story. However, I haven't found anyone who took a human noble into awakening. (Which is surprising, that is my fav origin)
I am planning to take a couple human nobles into Awakening..but my release date from Direct to Drive..has been pushed from the 16th to the 18th.
So I won't be able to see if for myself ...heh I'll have to rely on you folks.

Thanks, but I also suspect nobody's actually listening to me. All some people
are hearing is what they think isn't there, and that I'm here to put a
spin on things. So be it. Perhaps it's better to just let it be and
wait until the hand-wringing has run its course.
You may be right with regard to the most disgruntled of us out there, but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it every time I see your name pop up into a thread. I don't post a lot, but I spend time combing through the forums to see what developers have to say (and a few regular posters I remember), and I think a big part of keeping my interest in this game going over the years before it was released was being able to follow that process through your commentary (and Mary's and Sheryl's and everyone else's).
So, here's one vote for you posting whatever you feel like posting as much as you feel like posting, and I have a feeling that a lot of your silent audience probably feels the same way. The most extreme voices are always the loudest, particularly on the internet, and there are a lot of us who value these forums a great deal and maybe don't take the time we should to acknowledge that publicly. Don't worry about the haters...
I have to say before people get the wrong impression..that I like Mr Gaider's writing..I have never read his books ..YET, but thats because I don't want the story spoiled with before-hand knowledge. I fully intend on buying the prequels AFTER I am done, ...heh that might be next year the way I am going..15 characters later.
But I always appreciate (and please don't call me a brown noser..I am certainly not one of those) when Mr Gaider pops his head in to state whatever about whatever topic.
It gives us a rare view of the "other" side of the fence...and I for one appreciate that...EVEN IF sometimes I don't agree with what he's saying.
So yes...more Gaider in these threads would be much appreciated.
Fans expressing their concerns about the game they love....is not a bad thing. It really isn't. It just shows how invested they are in the well written characters, dialogue and story line.
So please just take us with a grain of salt Mr Gaider, we really do care about the game....if we didn't there would be total silence on these boards.

Well I'm not sure how long DA:O pregnancies take....but the time frame for Awakening is supposed to be 6 months after Origins, according to a long video interview done by the Greywarden's site.
And..supposedly Morrigan is off..gallivanting at the Orlesian court...I would imagine attempting to make important ..power connections over there.
I have a hunch we'll see her again, but probably not as a companion you can tote around with you....more like the main subject of a story..perhaps in the sequel? I am guessing at this point of course, so please don't jump on me and call me names...hehehe

To David Gaider- Coming from a Looong time playing wow, what I can tell you from my forum experiences there is the following.
1, The more a dev posts the more people will post hoping to get said Devs attention
2, The more you post the more people will respond
3, There will always be people who want you to be wrong, want their vision to be the one
4, they will always be the most vocal people.
At the end of the day Bio's track record shows quality games, now you are at the stage of being able to experiment more, but you also have reached the apex of community engagement where each experiment will get more debate.
The conversation wheel in Mass Effect got some debate but due to the smaller feedback that debate did not seem so "personal".
My advice as a long time forum mod and as a long time gamer and forum troll is understand that at the end of the day your vision is the one that takes the game forward, there will always be community feedback, but that feedback will always be subjective and skewed to the viewpoint of a player.
In other words, your tone on the forums often seems like you dont "want" to have the debates, but the vast majority of silent forum lurkers will probably be very appreciative of the input we get. Irrespective of if we agree or disagree with the theories you are posing.
Now with all that being said, The camp discussions and NPC development have always been my favourite part of modern Bio style RPG's.
Kotor, DA, MA, MA2, JE I have played them all and always loved the dialogues both triggered and passive and made sure to explore them all. If such a thing is gone for the sake of Casualising the game, I will be a sad bunny.
If however the dialogues are just as deep and the purpose is to make them more reactive to direct game events then I can support this, but I would like the camp banters and dialogues to remain part of future games too.

Oh boy. My point is this. Why come in and complain about complaining? Isn't that a contraidiction? Express your opinion but can't people do it like mature adults? The name calling and crap is quite unnecessary. I have stated my opinion, and I am having an adult argument with another member about it. There is nothing wrong with that, but being an a** is not necessary. That is what I'm saying. If one doesn't want to read others complaints, then one should leave the conversation. Not call names. Don't you agree?
You must have me mistaken with someone else who engaged in "name calling." I chalk this up as a communication breakdown...

Well, you mentioned name calling, to my surprise, in two direct responses to my posts. I took this as:
"It's ok for me to post on this forum disagreeing with something but not ok for you to comment on my disagreement, and if you do, then you are name calling and should just leave."
Obviously not a rational point of view.

Do people come into these forums just to knock people for having seperate views? People are entitled to their opinion. If you find the posts to be irrational ranting, then go. If you don't like it, get out of the forum. Start your own thread complaining about people complaining.
note cmessaz this is not directed at you or really anybody (okey it is but no one specific
sadly it does seem like it at times, I mean arguing that what a person said was wrong is really really annoying espeically since an opinion is AN OPINION which it is a subjective view so it can't be wrong.
what is wrong is going a around stating it as a fact and making threads such as " destroy all nug is a major dissappointment" over and over really gets annoying,. yes we get it you hate destroying nugs, cause it doesn't have the part were you could turn them into nug kabobs (you sick basterd you)
tl;dr your opinion isn't fact and stop arguing it as one, also stop knocking other people for there own opinion and making dozens of " i hate this part" "bioware doesn't get it" hint: they do they designed the ****ing game
/rant
so anyways what part of awakening are you most excited not dissappointed (because you haven't played the game)
All of your saved games are ruined?? Yikes. Looks like you won't be sleeping tonight

Well you must have convenient posts, then. Most of my posts were in response to the person who was insulting another member. However, I don't think you were overly polite yourself. I didn't mean to imply that you were necessarily the one calling names. If I quoted you, then it must have been a mistake. I'm new to forums and occasionally screw up. People come in these forums and poke fun of others for their opinion and I think it is childish. My point has been made, as has yours. Can we drop it now?
Of course...I happen to agree with you on your third to last sentence. Although, it is totally in the realm of accepted forum behavior to challenge opinions and statements (name calling and personal attacks are different). In my years of being a technical moderator on another forum, I have found a good number of people have problems telling the difference.
We are all entitled to our opinions, but, if you are going to share one on a public forum, be prepared to defend said opinion with those that disagree (hopefully in a respectful manner).
Since you admit to being new to forums, keep in mind if you quote someone and add a message, it is implied that you are responding to them...
