Yeah I just enchanted a staff and now it's on fire. And a bow, can't remember which one I will look. I didn't download any mods, that would effect that anyway. Will you let me know Feraele? Maybe I messed something up. (In a good way)
Might depend which items they were, I had a look at both the Winter's breath that you get from Warden's Keep, and the Warden's crossbow, neither of them have slots.
Might be due to a mod you installed..or maybe only certain items have rune slots?

I enchanted that one staff you get in the mages chest in return to ostagar (if you don't use it in the beginning). I'm not sure the name of it, is it corrupted something? Anyway, I am doing warden's keep right now and when I'm done I will check that bow and winters breath. The only mods I have installed right now are "skip the fade" and an Alistair face morph. And some cosmetics, such as hair.
Ahhh I always forget to save my key for the mage's chest, so I can never get that corrupted staff lol.

You just don't ask him for it. That gets you more approval with Alistair, and then you go to the prisoner's charred corpse in return to ostagar and loot it for the key.
Thats what I am doing wrong..thanks

Thanks for your response. However, it doesn't make much sense to me. Sorry. I don't buy the game and then make the judgement, because I don't have the money to do that with all the games I may or may not like. So, I have to restrict myself to other means. Threads like these help with that.Kerridan Kaiba wrote...
@AngryFrozenWater - I like to hear what others have to say but I'm going to reserve all judgment until I get the actual game in my hands. I read reviews, but listen to them rarely. I'm glad Nemesis7884 was able to tell us what he thought about the game. It's appreciated and I'm glad he took the time to do it.
What I have been seeing over the past few months with this game and Mass Effect 2 is people just jumping the gun before they even play it. I have plenty of games I would consider garbage but I can at least say I came to that conclusion on my own after playing it. Not before based off what everyone else says.
I reallly love the game, but (like I said) this expansion disconnects the player from his/her past, it does not support older DLCs and new patches and DLCs will most likely be targeted towards Awakening.
I may pick it up when the price drops significantly, but for now it means that I play another game instead.

I hope you're all happy with yourselves!
To be honest, I do not find him particularly pleasant in any of his posts. I am not bothered.
Why's that? I mean he's passionate about what he does, the company he works for, and the creations he produces so he defends them when he feels they've been attacked unwarrantably. I've never really seen him get to any level of agression in his posts and his replies are always in classy and professional manner. Occasionaly he'll get a little over-zealous but can you really fault the man for defending what he loves doing?
I think...we have to realize where Mr Gaider is coming from..writer (artistic) ..he may feel we are attacking his work.
Being artistic myself I can understand that part. You put your heart and soul into what you do. Its hard to watch it being attacked and torn apart. But being that there are public forums for discussion of the game, that may happen unfortunately.
I have nothing whatsoever against his writing..NONE. I think its more the game mechanics than anything else that have me "upset" (not sure what word to put there..but that will do) at times.
My comment had nothing to do with his 'passion', 'artistic creativity or ability as a writer. He is allowed to post whatever he sees fit and defend himself if he feels the need. My comments had to do with how I find his demeanor in his posts. I find them unnecessarily smug and condescending, I have not found this to be the case from other devs that have posted in these forums. I prefer constructive a debate/comments not smug responses; to each his own.

Incorrect. I would have made that change regardless of the budget involved, and while its exact implementation may receive some tweaking depending on how its received I still do think it's the right direction.CoS Sarah Jinstar wrote...
I think had he called it for what the decision to do so stemed from (lack of time. budget) rather than use a weak excuse it might have been better recieved.
Naturally the fans always want "moar!", and that's hardly unexpected. I'm addressing the idea that you should expect to be able to click on a character and ask them whatever you like, whenever you like, and that we should write loads and loads of expensive dialogue when those words can be used more efficiently elsewhere -- sure, the overall volume of dialogue can increase with a bigger budget, but I still think the idea of going around a camp and clicking repeatedly on followers just to see if they have any new questions to ask has fundamental issues... regardless of whether you think it "ain't broke" or not.
Disagree? As you wish. Want to cradle DA:O to your chest and refuse to play anything again, ever, because it just couldn't possibly be the same? That's okay, too. If you're trying to tell me, however, that the only route to go with dialogue is just to provide endless amounts of it and that everything else is "streamlining" -- well, sorry, in that case you're just going to have to be disappointed. So be it.
At the end of the day there's less overall character development that can be done in the space of an expansion, that's normal, but I don't really think that situation can be improved just by allowing someone to ask more questions in camp. Even so, I'll see what people have to say who have actually played the game, and parse their answers appropriately. That's my job.
Correct, if it "ain't" broke, don't fix it.
Just like the Coca-Cola company did in 1985? Everyone just wanted to sit around 'cradling' their old cans of Coke and would never think anything could ever be better. Then, one of the overly ambitious Einsteins over at the Coca-Cola company decided it would be such a great idea to change the original formula; that went over well.

And as for people attacking his work, I don't know if they have as I haven't read the entire 44 page thread. However, I can certainly relate to seeing people slam what you work on. What irks me more than anything is people who praise what is undeniably crap writing, only to never have my work seem to get the same sort of feedback.
Sometimes, I do hate reading forums. If I do ever have the luck to be published as I've yet to send anything out, I know people would find the tiniest of things to complain about or only ever mention the negative aspects, rather than the positive on forums etc. So, regarding the 'there being less dialog with party members' issue amongst others, how about you just take the game for what is and don't look for anything to complain about? I see complaining with absolutely every game and it's outnumbered by the positive comments, but it's the web and most people only voice dissatisfaction if they're not simply trolling. And well, from a writer standpoint even if I don't always follow advice, I can certainly relate to writing dialog for other parts of the game rather than giving players an info dump on the characters. Granted, writing is not the same as making games, but there you are.

LOL....
Regarding people fearing change...then you are in the wrong hobby. PC gaming is built on evolving change. It isn't like a book where the format has always been the same. PC hardware changes constantly, game engines change constantly, graphics change, UI's change. This has always happened. The "ain't broke so don't fix it" doesn't really apply to this industry. It isn't so much about fixing as it is evolving.
The hard part is that you will never be able to please everyone (really apparent in this thread).
If we applied the "don't change" theory, why did they even bother to create a new game engine? Why not just use the BG Infinity engine? I mean, there wasn't anything really wrong with it, right?
