I've only played through once, but once I got the characters for it, this was my party for the entire game:

Hero: DW rogue, Assassin/Dualist
Allister: S&B, Templar/Champion
Wynne: Healing, Cold and Earth Elementals, Spirit Healer
Morrigan: Fire,
Telekenisis, Death and Sleep, Shapeshifter

I found this party to be well balanced and a lot of fun. The character interations were a little boring though.

What about you guys?

Hero: Rogue

Shale: Shale

Sten: Sten

Morrigan: Morrigan



You can move Shale in and out of roles with relative ease. Her interactions with Sten are wonderful.She gets rather sharp with Morrigan. And Morrigan getting all flirty with Sten is worth the price of the game, imho.



Or if you want maximum drama:



Hero: Mage

Alistair: Straight sexy

Zevran: Lethally sexy

Lelianna: Sneakily sexy



And romance all three.



A male hero could go for the PC as a Sword and baord warrior and use Morrigan in lieu of Alistair.

My first playthrough I used Alistair, Morrigan and Wynne. Alistair and Wynne do good dialogue. Morrigan's dialog with anybody is crap, except for Sten.



My current playthrough is Sten, Morrigan and Leil. Leil and Sten are priceless. Sten and Morrigan is great. Somehow I started a romance with Morrigan (although twice telling her just friends for -10 approval) and now Morrigan fights with Leil alot. Blegh.



My next playthrough is going to be Wynne, Dog and Zevran I think. 2Handed Human Noble. Zevran sux to respec to open boxes, but I can always revisit with Leil. Dog to blitz mages. Wynne to rule with healing and paralysis. Unsure for Zevran if ranged or DW. Already specced to DW, so I suspect that.

Zevran is a monster DW. If he isn't shredding the opposition, then you are doing something wrong.

Yea Zevran is obscenely awesome with DW damage. My funnest playthroughs have him, Alistair (Al romanced and theres tons of comments from the people traveling with you about the PC and him) and Wynne. Also I have the Dog slot mod so I can bring him along without giving up a full slot. It varies though. For some areas I have companions I prefer, for instance you learn a lot about the Deep Roads and Thaigs if you take Oghren looking for Branka.
