It's funny, isn't it? in Painkiller hitting enemy in torso with this tree-shooting-crossbow-something caused all his limbs and head to fly in 5 directions leaving the torso (split in two) to fall to the ground. Same thing in Fallout 3 and noone likes it really much. As it turns out, not every game needs enemies bowels splashing against the camera to make the gore level adequate.

Besides, tell me that screaming enemy turning into burning corpse that turns into dust after few seconds is not strong stuff?

There certainly is something called; too much, but in every game that has had it, enemy turning to ash never gets old.

I have distinct memory of enemies hanging on the wall after using that crossbow thing in Painkiller. Maybe the guy playing in the video had some kind of damage boost on?

Another Fallout 3 example: Bloody Mess. Turns enemies into pulp.

Nobody liked this, quite some mods out there that turns it off and only adds the bonus.

no thanks. i dont like gore in sci-fi. (personal preference)
when shot, i would think it would 'burn' so there isnt much blood splattering about. (this is how i justify it in my head LOL.. weirdo)

also... i don't want the original to be adjusted from my crazy Australian Censoring.
*bodys fade to black shadows before disappearing* <_<

It isn't that we want super gore it is that we want realistic blood and injury's. It is just awesome when you see this in games and it makes you happy they got it.

Gore makes you happy? And if you want realistic blood and injuries, go find another game. You're playing a game with health regeneration.

Na this game is the game for it in america. I don't know how it is for you but this is a game built on realisim. Why I play it. Yeah gore makes everyone happy except ****'s who should be playing another game rather then confusing what the games all about and trying to tell people the wrong ****. That ******'s me off when people do that.

I think you all think were talking about you get shot and blood shoots out like a super soaker and you're organs spill out all over the floor. That's not even close to realistic and you have someting wrong with you if that's what your thinking. No but im talking realstic like modern warfare realistic. Those guys hit it on the money with realisim. Hell the FDA made them stick that warning message at the start of the game lol.

If they made it too gory, it would make it hard to sell overseas.

Well they make the game diffrent for diffrent places. Americans love gore and austrailans don't. SO they make it diffrent and with a slideing bar for most games to control gore.

My original post meant to also be a little funny. I guess nobody thought so but me though. lol (chainsaw, eye popping ) ha ha
A little exaggeration on my part.

Seriously though, if I shot an enemy with the Widow in the head or shot an enemy at point blank range with the shotgun, I would like a little more damage seen that what we are seeing now.

The blood mists that we see are nice enough for me. Shooting an enemy in the arm or leg with a powerful weapon should do a little more visible damage that what we see now IMO.

Violence settings would be nice IMO.

I don't care if they add more gore or not (BioWare did say in previews for ME2 they would be adding gore to the game over ME1, which I guess is exploding Vorcha and Loki mechs breaking to pieces). I would, however, like the weapon impacts to seem a lot more natural. It just seemed like any of the hits from any weapon would gain the same few animations, if that. If you get shot, your body involuntarily reacts to it. Slow crumpling deaths don't exactly happen when you get nailed by a shotgun. You crumple like a bag of potatoes, and a high-velocity rifle round to the head is probably going to make your head snap back. It doesn't have to be gory, but after seeing most bad guys have their slow grunt of release and fall down for any situation, it didn't have the same effect as just watching them drop silently and their body react in unnatural ways.

Just my two cents.

EDIT: Also, for the most part, I don't think people minded the lack of gore in the Call of Duty series. It was overall very tame in the levels of gore, and other than World at War where limbs could be removed with a shotgun blast (for those who didn't play the game, it was fairly tame, just a 'wait, is that guy missing his arm below the elbow? I see'), the rest of the series just has everyone else doing ragdoll physics when they get killed. Even when an M-82 Barrett drills a guy in the torso and they fail to have their body have a bowling ball sized hole in the middle.

The most i could tolerate would probaly be a for a critical-shot/shield-break;limping/bullet hole with red stains on the armor. Toning it down- would be for the enemy to be supporting/nursing a wrist/arm/stomach while shooting or something. no dismembering body parts flying around or vein entrails or spilling guts or blood. Even with the bullet hole- it would have to be a 'one-off' in battle. i dont want to see it each time i shoot someone/thing.

but it is also abit weird- if you/your squad get shot, how would you animate the health-regeneration without it looking strange with a open wound.

AND i dont find it awesome. cringe worthy.(WUSS!) it matches perfectly with Dead Space because of the setting and genre though (survival horror):pinched:

I don't think we need it. It gets by in Dead Space as that is survival horror anyway.

Nothing at all?  Not even say a more realistic head shot with the sniper rifle?  Or perhaps a little more visible damage on the enemy using a shotgun at point blank range?
And what about violence settings?

What country do you live in?
You may be a teenager, but there is a lot of adults in this forum and that play the game.
Parents need to do there job.  Bioware shouldn't do it for them.

As I said like... two weeks ago when this thread was made.. I would love realism in any M-rated game. Bullet to the leg? Small blood spray and a little spot on the limb to reflect that. A Widow shot to the head? No. More. Head. Accompanied with a few spurts of blood up from the connecting arteries followed by a realistically-sized blood pool on the ground.

That is similar to what I would like to see.  That is not that big of a deal IMO.

While I'm not endorsing insane amounts of gore, you DO see pyro vorchas get gibbed when they explode, so more visceral headshots wouldn't be a bad thing.

Are you saying that shooting someone in the chest with a pistol doesn't cause them to explode?!
