[Quikdoom]

 Game played ok until I replaced the power supply, then when I restarted the PC it only loads the first screen with all the option on it which all work except "play" . When I press "play" I get a message saying windows is investigating the problem and will email if their is a solution!  Sometimes when I press play I even get a far as the small pic that appears when it is loading but only for a second then it cuts out. Any ideas would be appreciated. running vs 1.0 not the patch

PSU shouldn't be an issue. Might have corrupted something in the game files somehow. Try reinstalling.  Of course I'm assuming all the proper connections have been made after you changed the PSU.  Especially the P4 connection if you're running a newer processor.

Only changed the power supply to a 600 from a 400 as my new asus GT250 1g needed more power. The game had run on the old supply with the new card prior to the new power supply installation. I have reinstalled the game twice since this problem started but no success. I tried another game, Cities XL which is internet dependant and funnily enough got the same message for a moment but then the game loaded and has loaded fine eversince.

Just go find the threads with the link to the x86 patch for whatever its called, its whats broke in the patch. OR if you don't want to have to hunt that down download and install the character creator, when you install it then it will update the dll thats broken. simple fixes really...
