I agree, I don't like how prominent the default John Shepard is becoming. I think it would look better and be more palatable to more people if they just stuck the helmet on him. Personally I still wouldn't like it as much (since he'd still be male), but at least it wouldn't feel like they're sticking with this one version so much, and the idea that he looks like what you choose would be more in the forefront.



Perhaps ironically, my one male shepard is using the default face simply because I don't really want to be bothered with working on a male face, since I'm only playing through on him to see the male-only romances, since females get pretty much nothing interesting in ME2.

Anybody want to make a sig in the style of the character support banners that says Not My Shepard with that face?
I'd do it but I'm crap at it, and I can't find the proper fonts.

I'd prefer if you make your own since I like identifying people by avatar.
However you can use the face if you want.

It's not that I dislike the default Shepard face - I just don't understand why anyone would want to play with that face. There Bioware has given us a great face generator to make our own characters, and the result is many people can't be bothered to use it. Why play a role-playing game if you can't even be bothered to make your own face?



Playing with the default face, I'd always feel as if I wasn't playing my own character. So: only custom Shepards for me, male and female likewise.

I like it. Would be nicer with the standard font everybody's banner uses, but it's a good start.

Oh and I forgot to show my custom Shep in a custom Shep thread. Allow me to remedy this.

The messy look is in, it suits my Renegade's "screw the world" attitude, and it's not available by normal means. People will always gravitate to what we can't have.
