The Cerberus Network was a *brilliant* concept... until they decided to start charging us for DLC anyway...

I would like to add my voice in support of this statement. All these free DLCs are bankrupting me!

There's one DLC announced which won't be free, and nobody even knows the price yet. Premature whine much?

It should be put on the Cerberus Network, but it doesn't matter to me either way.

I think we all know that's a ridiculous statement. They're doing a fine job working - which is what they get paid for. And sure, they could have charged $10, hell, they could have charged $100 for each item. But would you spend money for the arc projector? How about the Assault Armor? Were either of those anywhere near worth $10? You have to consider that much of the free Ceberus Network content wouldn't be paid for by the average customer in the first place. Obviously Firewaker and Zaeed are exceptions to that, but let's be fair in giving credit where credit is due.

Actually - not that I don't love the game, but so far, if I had known what it was like before it came out, and had they charged for it, I wouldn't have purchased anything that has dropped on CN yet. In a way, we should be thankful. They're giving us a taste of what it's like before asking us to pay for it. It's nice that they're adding DLC, I hope this is just to keep us sated until something substantial comes out that I'll definitely purchase. If Kasumi is as much like Zaeed as people are saying, well, I'll just pretend she doesn't exist.

Its free........

Pfft. Like that matters.

I want 150 hours of gameplay with new vehicles, a reaper squadmate and forty new guns in each class. I think it should be free because I know that in my extensive experience with running a business, workers don't have to be paid for their work.

You forgot the part about a 20+ romance sub-plot with Tali DLC.

I also want the game to do everything. No, I demand it.

I believe they should allow us to use the Cerberus Network for what Shepard REALLY does with it.

Be content knowing BioWare doesn't listen to 99% of the forums.

Kinda defeats the purpose of the Cerberus Network.

That depends on what 'the purpose of the Cerberus Network' is.

It's more than delivering free DLC to the players.  It's also the mechanism that Bioware uses to collect player metrics.  I suspect that in Bioware's eyes that is its primary purpose - the DLC is just the incentive BW is using to get people to sign up and use it.

(I'm not complaining.  Both parties get something useful out of the arrangement.)

The man does have a point about Kasumi. Removing stuff from the game to sell it later... not a nice thing to do. A complete dick move, in fact.

Blame EA, BioWare doesn't do dick moves like that. Further proof that it's EA can be found in SC2/Diablo 3 and their premium bnet accounts.

Don't blame BioWare for the crap EA pulls.

Oh, we really shouldn't be complaining either. EA is balancing their buisness model with pleasing the fans by adding useless crap that was probably unfinished anyhow. If Microsoft bought BioWare you can believe they would remove half the game and try to sell it back to us in 150 pieces at $5+ a piece.

States the price has been set at 560 points(M$ and BW).
So 7bucks for the same level of content Zaeed has.

"The price is wrong, B...Bob"

The wiki is quoting an article from a... Czechoslovakian game site, which doesn't report the source of the figure.  Bioware hasn't announced anything yet.

Maybe they're right, but I wouldn't treat it as fact.

You do realize that Activision, the greater of the two evils, owns Blizzard and not EA? IMO EA has sucked on the evil front lately. And BW's DLC having poor price/content ratio? What else is new?

So Bioware is giving us another DLC, interesting, if its true. Although considering the comment of a Mod on Page 2, i figure it is. Well, someone slipped there, didnt they? But anyway, back to my point. Are you mad? Seriously, do you all live in some sort of overhyped Mental Institution? If the Info, as fake as it might be, if its correct, what 5 bucks for ANOTHER Zaeed? Dont get me wrong, the Character is funny, his Loyalty Mission is even one of my favorites but otherwise..no, dont want another. Also if i have to pay for Kasumi, i expect MORE than ****ing 1 Hour Recruitment and maybe 30 Minutes of a Loyalty Mission (i timed my Insanity Playthroughs, hence thats the Average overall)

So far we got, lets see..

Zaeed: Good Loyalty Mission, No Recruitment Mission, no Interaction outside of hearing him talk about his Life, one single new Weapon which is phased out once you get to Horizon anyway, ****ty Squadmate Power.

Arc Projector: Another Weapon, useful but we got way too many Heavy Weapons so really, did we need another?

Cerberus Armor: Another DLC Armor i cant remove the Helmet from or customize. ME2 was hyped up about how you could customize everything. That amounts to 3-4 Pieces for Arms, Torso and Legs, and 2 Helmets (whoever wears them anyway?) although if you have the Dr. Pepper Stuff its 5 Helmets.

New Shotgun: Powerful but low Ammo Count, too few Rounds and considering you get Shotguns very late unless you play Soldier or Vanguard, sort of stupid.

Normandy Crash Site: 20-30 Minutes of running around grabbing 20 Items and a old Helmet, watching a few Flashbacks to ME1 and reading a Datapad. Thats it.

So lets recount there, if i had to pay for that, i would pay for all that together, maybe 5-10 Bucks.

And here they throw another Zaeed-like Character out, one single new Weapon and thats it? Honestly, if i could, i would grab my CE Edition, which i actually had to pay 70 Bucks for due to ****ty Prices here (and Euro > US Dollar) and would slap that thing over your collective Heads. I mean seriously, DLC is not "oh yeah, lets just throw them some random crap" i remember Fallout 3 DLC, and i do loathe Bethesda for what they did to the Fallout Franchise (yes im a oldschool Fanboy) and they did a much better job at their 5 DLC's than BW did so far, and im not even going to start about the DA:O DLC Crap. Although i only heard most of it in passing as i have not payed for them or played them. And do not throw the Bull**** Defense about "Its Free so dont whine". Its not free, i paid for it, the CN costs after all, doesnt matter if you buy a new Game or get the CN later on, you PAY for it. And so far we havent gotten our Money's Worth. At least i rather doubt they just throw it in for free if you have to pay for CN if you do not buy the Game fresh, thats illogical.

Anyway, im done ranting..for now >_>

Hey,

Well, I think it's time to lock this thread.

Michael Gamble is correct. The content was not intended to be part of the original game. The fact that some content was included on disk was because of production and technical concerns. Specifically, having to worry about coordinating the schedules of the actor's and actress's who voiced those characters with our own production team, as well as the difficulty in getting downloaded VO to work with some of our other systems.

If you wish to continue this discussion, start a new thread and one without an blatantly argumentative and incorrect title.

Thanks!
