i liked that title but now just noticed that the word for  ( female dog ) has been edited

ok so im sure this has been asked before but as i searched elsewhere and couldn't find a quick answer i'll try here where the experts are

1st playthru,    final mission, ship upgraded correctly but only Jack dies during the walk
being carried off in swarm (dorkboy Jacob wasn't strong enough biotic)  Miranda is other team leader and all the squad  were loyal except Jack
  as couldn't make her loyal after earlier completing her personal mission succesfully as option to resolve the Miranda/Jack dispute wasn't available and i sided with Miranda over Jack ,  Tali  does vents and Mordin is guide back to ship

so 2nd playthru,   ship upgrades ok,  again all loyal except Jack ( idiot me  i missed chance to pick the option to keep them both on my side !!!!)
final mission Samara is now my biotic guiding thru the swarms and no one dies at this point,  again Miranda is team leader ( what a girl !! )     for the final end battle i pick Grunt & Samara both survive and  Reaper defeated.    Thane reports from the other team and all seems ok  but then as Joker says he picking up the survivors the camera scans briefly to Jack lying on ground with Collectors approaching her ( never saw her being killed )

Other than another playthru  is there anyway to save her , as deep down shes a troubled soul who i know i can learn to lust sorry love  etc etc etc ?

Try leaving Grunt to hold the line. He does it the best, and it might be enough to keep everyone alive. Take Mordin in his place, since he's the weakest for that role. If you sent Mordin to escort the crew, take Jacob instead.

Oh, on the subject of escorting: if you did send an escort, you can also choose not to--it will make the line stronger. Definitely make sure you leave characters like Grunt, Garrus, and Zaeed back. Choosing to not have an escort + leaving Grunt might be enough to do it.

You'll also lose all the crew though.

And unloyal Grunt has been known to hold the line -by himself-.  There was some thread about how someone tried to get everyone to die, and left Grunt to hold the line.  He was the only one (aside from Joker) to make it out alive.

But yeah, leave Grunt on the line and send Mordin back with the crew.  That -should- do it?  Its possible Jack just may die no matter what you do.

Jack is currently the third weakest at holding the line, especially if she's not loyal. After Kasumi is out, she'll be the fourth weakest.

Ok, this is what I have so far for Kasumi, if they don't change it with the DLC:

Normandy Ship Upgrade Deaths
No Armor - Jack
No Shields - Kasumi -> Legion -> Tali -> Thane -> Garrus -> Zaeed -> Grunt -> Samara
No Weapon - Thane -> Garrus -> Zaeed -> Grunt -> Samara

Hold the Line Death List (Weakest first)
1. Mordin
2. Tali
3. Kasumi
4. Jack
5. Miranda

NOTE: Non-loyals will die before loyal squadmates.

Yeah, I probably should have mentioned that... He never mentioned anything about escorts so I just assumed it wasn't important to him.

So yeah, if you want the crew to survive, send Mordin as the escort, and make sure to leave at least Zaeed, Garrus, and Grunt on the line. Take Tali and Samara to the final battle. (edit: unless you're dead-set on Samara, it would make the line stronger if you took someone else on the Ecael's list above and leave Samara on the line).

If you don't care about the crew/Chakwas, leave the same people, but definitely take Mordin to the final battle, as he's the weakest link and taking him means someone stronger takes his place on the line.

I had every team member loyal, all ship upgrades, most weapon upgrades, and survived by doing the following:



1. Tali in the vents, Garrus as 2nd Squad Leader, Grunt and Jack as team-mates.

2. Samara as biotic shield, Jacob leading crew back to ship, Grunt and Jack as team-mates.

3. Garrus and Jack as team-mates, everybody else holding the line.



All squaddies made it, although I did have an iffy moment when Jack slid towards the edge after slayage of giant human reaper baby, and I had to slide down to save her.

Hmm. Try doing a little switcharound.

Tali as escort, Samara as biotic specialist, Miranda as fire team leader, squad anyone but Jack.

Final mission, take Miranda and Mordin. I'm 90% sure that should equal 0 casualties.
