So I understand that these developers like BioWare and Bethesda offer amazing worlds that they create for people to play and become entranced in, but why do they rarely offer co-op?

Mass Effect and Oblivion offered large worlds to explore and fool around in yet they didnt offer you the chance to at least do it with a friend. Im not saying it takes away from the game but for me personally I find it a lot more fulfilling to tackle quests, progressing characters, and doing epic things if you have someone to experience it with.

Dragon Age regardless looks amazing and advancing the story through conversations alone would be fun. I just think a co-op feature could only better the experience.

Although it might be a little more work I think it would be cool to have the developers work out how the story would unfold if one user was maybe a noble while the other was off lesser character. It would even make the story more interesting allowing whoever iniated the conversation to say what they want and can change the whole reputation of the pair.

In Bioware's case, I think it has more to do with most of their plots don't work right with two main player characters without a lot of adjusting. For Bethesda... I'm not sure. Fallout 3's main plot was fairly single-character focused, but everything else could've been executed fairly reasonably with a two-person team. Same goes for Oblivion and Morrowind.

Definitely, Co-op is always something I like to see in a game. It would be so much more fun to explore the vast game world with your friends. However, I would assume it would be harder to fit the story into place having to account for the other players and their actions. I would rather have a co-op option for any game than a pvp option but that's just my preference.
