You get it in the Tali recruitment mission, but you have to play on Hardcore on Insanity for the weapon to appear (last room with Tali). The weapon kinda sucks though.

Then you haven't been paying attention. This weapon exists, but you can only find it by switching the difficulty to Hardcore or Insanity before landing on Haestrom. Keep the difficulty up for the entirety of the mission, and the Geth Pulse Rifle will be found in the same room as Tali, at the end of the mission.

Trust me: most of the people on this board have found the Geth Pulse Rifle. It does, in fact, exist.

i know how to get it. just haven't gotten to tali's mission yet. wondering if it was any good.

Outclassed by the Vindicator, which you'll have by then. Superior to the Avenger unless you're going up against armor though.

Still, if you want an assault rifle, are dissatisfied with the Vindicator's low ammunition capacity, and lack the Revenant then the GPR is a good choice.

i have beaten the game like 3 times now. and started adept class in insanity. i didn't like how if you picked the vindcator and imported that save game to a new one you can't pick another weapon on the collecter ship

The Geth Pulse Rifle has low damage, but a high rate of fire and a high ammo capacity. It's not necessarily a bad weapon, but you'll get better results out of the Vindicator just about every time.

The only exception is against taking down shields like Adepts.  I use GPR for my Adept because i want the shields gone ASAP then throw three warp (Miranda + Thane) at it if armored (YMIR) for quick kills.

So.. um.. in a nutshell.. situationally useful

I prefer the geth pulse rifle + disruptor ammo for missions against Geth, the high rate of fire is very helpful. Otherwise the Vindicator is really just better. Though as DesolCobra mentioned, for an Adept an argument can be made for the GPR all the time.

Sorry. I'm a Soldier, so to me, power is the main thing I'm concerned about.



As I said: It's not necessarily a bad weapon. However, in most cases, it tends to get outclassed by other weapons. That doesn't mean it's not useful; I just find it less useful than you do.

The Geth rifle is good. I liked it a lot. It does more damage to shields, but if you power up the Geth Pulse Rifle with Armor Piercing ammo....it is great.

The only issue is that the raw damage on the GPR/Avenger is less than 1/3 the damage per shot on the Vindicator. Your multiplier can't make up for that, not even close. The refire delay on the Vindicator helps, but it's still better for raw power than either. You'd only take the GPR over the Vindicator if you were concerned about ammunition carried, and you'd only take the Avenger over the GPR if you were going against Blood Pack or Husks.

Sometimes useful on Shepard, but on squadmates vindicator is always the better option.

'cos they don't seem to know how to use high RoF to the fullest.

Wrong. The Vindicator is about 2x as fast at taking down shields compared to the GPR. The Vindicator should be much more useful for the Adept, since the Adept has so many abilities he shouldn't run out of ammo with it.

Also, the vindicator is more accurate.
