Like there is a council representitive with maximum clearance- basically just like a spectre.
There's Someone in it whose name is "Shepard".
The Alliance is the human faction.
There are "Reavers" or geth, perhaps where "Reapers" comes from.
There is a chase across the galaxy.
hmm it all just seems pretty similar to me... copywrite bioware?

Operatives are unknown, the only reason Book knows about them is a hinted shady past with the Alliance. Spectres however, are known by the galaxy community.
Shepard Book is a religious man, Shepard, is his title, not name.
There isn't any other race in the Serenity world, tho'.
The Reavers have more in common with Husks than anything else, and both the names Reavers and Reapers have occured many times in other stories.
Sorry to nit pick, but the similiarties aren't really strong enough to think ME has things based this much off Firefly.

Also, there is a reference to Unification Day (Turian Heirarchy I believe).

It's not like they take ads out on the extranet to announce who Spectres are. The only well known ones are Saren and Shepard. The existence of them are known, yes, but the Parliament's Operatives are hinted at during the series, IIRC.

well while there is no direct replication in story it is still similar and it may copy from other volumes aswell.
Well atleast it doesn't blatantly steal from other games like Darksiders does.

Yes, I've seen The Hunt for Red October, thank you.
Point being was that in the pilot episode of Firefly, Wash (the pilot) pulls a crazy ivan where he flips Serenity (the ship) around rapidly to get away from pursuing reavers.

Reavers and geth having nothing to do with each other. The geth are a sentient machine race, the Reavers are humans that were drugged into permanent psychosis. The Reapers are called Reapers because they literally 'harvest' the galaxy of materials. Since they also cause the galaxy to grow the way they desire with mass relays and the Citadel, they are 'reaping what they sow'. And, of course, the simple pun of Reaper being a reference to the good old grim reaper.slicer477 wrote...

And if you think a 'chase across the galaxy' is a reference, then Mass Effect's ripped off just about every single sci-fi ever.
There are plenty of Firefly references in ME (big damn heroes, Unification War, etc), but the ones you list are circumstantial at best.

Theres been an Asari Spectre that has actually been in extranet news, in regards to the leaked Council Financial documents, where they name her. They certainly don't seem to hide who is a Spectre, and given that there is a huge fanfare Spectreing ceremony (Kinda like a Knighting) in ME1 where people that just happen to be around the Council chambers can watch it happen... no, it doesn't seem to be anything remotely resembling a secret.

allow me to elaberate; I relate Reavers to geth because they are segregated from the rest of civilisation and are attacking colonies - the fact they are organics is irrelivant.
I only relate Reavers and Reapers because of the simile and I thought the writers of Mass Effect might of taken Serenity and used material from it which they clearly have with some of the references in Firefly.
Still it seems from the foundations there are similarities, although not exact rip-offs, from the Serenity movie.

It's also mentionned in Andromeda Ascendant when Captain Hunt tries to evade some random-almost-unbeatable-at-the-time Niesztchean Starship in the 1st season I believe.
There found it : D minus 0. 4th episode of the first season.
Re-engaging the enemy, Dylan teaches Beka the "Crazy Ivan" maneuver – random speed and heading changes to throw the enemy off. Dylan puts the crew on fighter support, assigning each one a "zone" to cover. Rev refuses to fire a weapon, so Dylan puts him on sensors.

Also well, the geth do resemble the Machine Collective as well in "Sum of all its parts"
Makes you wonder why all sci-fi looks the same
Still, man, I liked that show... Real sad it got deprogrammed.

There is a chase across the galaxy.
Actually, to my understanding, all events that take place in Firefly and Serenity occur in the same solar system. That was their remarkable way of avoiding the light speed limitation, as opposed to coping-out like most series and introducing FTL drives with a vague or unrealistic explanation.
