Maybe i put it out wrong. storywise i wasn't trying to tie Shadows and Collectors, but Shadows and Reapers. Shadows in Bab5 are oldest race in galaxy who wage war with younger species every thousand years or so. Currently watching 3rd season of B5 so fresh in memory. Lot's of story arcs taken from single episodes too. iirc in season 2 there was episode where organization of bad guys resurrected dead earth soldier in Lazarus project to act as assassin

Shadows weren't the oldest race in Bab5.
They were as old as the Vorlons, their mortal enemies, and both were created by far older beings who were persuaded to intervene in the latest outbreak of galactic violence between Vorlons and Shadows. Basically, they had to go spank their children again.

I honestly saw more similarity between Reapers & Collectors to Kronos and the Creators in the Guyver manga/anime.
Only real difference was that the Creators weren't seen again, and that it was Kronos who was "guiding man kind's destiny" through genetic engineering/augmentation as opposed to influencing technological development.

Ultimately, it's all things that have been done before in different materials and settings.
Let's just pray that the Reapers aren't from the future....

Guyver?? I loved the Guyver suits... a bit of a cheesy movie, with Mark Hamil in it, but it also had some great moments. Weren't there 2 movies??
