Where are they? I was told the keep will lock up once I exit the zone, and I do not want that- immediate assistance would be greatly appreciated! Only "clue" I think I've found so far is the statue outside.

I missed that one as well, and didn't realise I had until the keep locked up. That part is at least true, can't confirm the mage room one though. I can't understand why the keep gets locked up, that's just evil
