I saw a post before. I tried the search but I think it's broken because nothing comes up. There seems to be two options.
1. I read that Zevran will train you, but only if you get his approval up. What sense does that make? I have to have 2 rogues in my 4 person group for several missions to get assassin? Anyone know how high I need the approval to get to?
2. I read that there was another option (Alarith's Store in Denerim), but I haven't been able to find it. Anyone know where that is or what issue unlocks it?
How the heck do you get to be assassin

1. I know, it's stupid. Makes no sense.
2. SPOILER: After the landsmeet, more of the zones will open up.

Just give Zevran gifts he will like. (gold or silver bars, antivian boots, and dalish gloves) you could also just talk to him at camp a few times. After he gets his first approval upgrade he should teach ya.

yeah you don't necessarily HAVE to have them in your party to get approval. Actually, of the 2 people i've "bedded" on my first character, only one of them was ever in my party...

My problem is, I talked to him and didn't get his approval much because well... I did what my character would've said, so I'm kind of screwed.

Yeah, I kind of killed him. Giving a professional assassin a chance to escape or turn the tables didn't seem like the smartest idea to me
