Downloaded the "Return to Ostagar" expansion on the date of release for the PS3. Played all of it until the point where you battle the Ogre (i.e. the one that killed Duncan) and the Necromancer. Killed them both and even got the short conversation between Wynne and Alistair after killing the Necromancer, which I assumed was the end of the expansion. However, the "Return to Ostagar" quest is still showing as "current" in my quest log. No matter what I do the quest does not complete, hence I don´t get the achievement/ trophy either.

I have checked and double checked everything. I have all of Cailans armour, Shield and sword. Killed everything on the level. Got Duncan´´s swords as well. I have rebooted the game and system to see if this makes a difference and it doesn´t. 

Any suggestions or possible workarounds to get the bug fixed so that I can have a completed quest for "Return to Ostagar" and my Trophy?

Have you headed back and dealt with Cailan's body?

Yeah done that as well. Get a comment from Alistair saying something about once the blight is finished we´ll deal with your body.

Looked at the walk through on Youtube and I never got the final cut scene where the kings is buried. Tried everything now like going back to the place where I killed the necromancer and walking out with Alistair instead but nothing. Run around the whole place just to make sure no darkspawn where left and I´ve killed everything.



Not impressed at all with this bug.

Did you try going back and clicking on the king's body after you killed everything? That's when it gave me the dialogue options to have a funeral pyre, leave his body for the wolves, etc.

Yeah went back to the kings body after killing the necromancer. Still get the same line from Alistair saying something about when you get rid of the darkspawn will come back for a proper burial. Can't get the final cut scene to start!



Starting to get slightly infuriated now!

My final cutscene with pc started normally when i entered the tunnel that took me to the battlefield, however I read from this forum that some of the pc players did not get the cutscene if they were on the stealth mode when entering the tunnel.

Can confidently say that i wasn't in stealth mode. However other modes may have an impact. Quite infuriating cause i know that they probably won't do any more bug fixes which are DAO related as all their focus now will be on awakening and the 2011 release of the next saga. So much for wanting to complete 100%

Did you find the documents pertaining to the relationship between Ferelden and Orlais? If not, that's probably why the quest cannot yet be completed.

As far as im aware the trophy should unlock once you've found the last piece of armor plus maric's shield and sword, then head back to the tunnel and you should get a cut-scene, I think you may have missed a piece of the armor and hopefully not got some horrible bug.

Thanks for the time to provide advice, but i can confirm that i have everything that can be collected in this level. Cross checked it against numerous walkthroughs and videos.



Got Maric Sword, Cailans Shield, Helm Gauntlets, Breastplate and Greaves. Even have them all equipped on Alistair. Both Duncans swords are equipped on my rogue. Got and read Cailans documents parts 1, 2 and 3.



I think I´m up against a nasty bug here.

Yeah, I collected everything and even got the cutscene but no trophy

had the same prob they way i got it out of it is when you kill the necro there'e the area behind him where its just nothing i went to it and when i got to the cave the cut scene came in

well for me, i got the trophy and the last scene were they burn cailan. and completed the quest

Also had dead time walked back to the tunnel and returned to the battlefield walking around to trigger the cut scene

The trophy that is awarded is for killing the orge that killed duncan ( it gives it to you once you loot duncan's weps, or when you drop the orge).



If it's a bug I hope they fix it, I got pefectionist and the Ultimate Sacrfice trophies when I loaded a saved file.



For the PS3 users since RTO we either don't get trophies we know we unlocked, or in my case ( and a few others) we get the harder to earn ones for loading into a game the next day lol!

did you get all the cutscenes triggered too? I thought there was a dagger and a sword

No updates on this? I have the exact same problem. I killed everything including the risen ogre and the necromancer, have all the parts of the armor plus sword and shield, got the documents ... but can't dispose of Cailan's body or get the quest to update. Running around on the battlefield then going back into the tunnels does not trigger the cut scene.

I went back to a previous save before starting Ostagar to play through the whole thing again. This time everything worked as it was supposed to. The only difference in the way I did it (as far as I can tell) is that this time I made sure to observe Cailan's body (and getting Alistair's comment about coming back after killing all the darkspawn) before continuing on past the bridge. I think on my first playthrough I didn't click on him before I finished killing everything. Don't know if that's the issue or not, but it's all I can figure.
