I thought it's already clear that almost all of us Hate The Fade and Bioware isn't going to put any more of these in the game? There are already projects made to help most of us Skip the Fade in the Origins, which shouldn't have been there in the first place since it takes away the sense of teamwork and many of us didn't make characters who specialize in solo'ing the Dragon Age alone with no party and friends.
I speak for most of the people here when I say I'm expecting to meet this Justice guy in real world and not in The Fade. Let us hope to god our journey won't bring us anywhere near The Fade ever again. Except, ofcourse, if we could bring in our whole raid to The Fade, I wouldn't have any problem with that.
Justice = More FADE?

I would love to go to the Fade again even if it meant soloing. Was fun both as a mage and warrior for me

hmmmmm I hated the fade, but im fine with soloing....
In fact, i think the Fort Drakon quest with just you and Allister could have been epic if you had to fight your way out using only weapons and armor you found in the place, and got your equipment back only after going into the Captain's office.
Back on topic........i dread doing the fade part with any new character i make.......just really didn't like it

I had mixed opinions on the fade, i thaught it was indeed annoying but it reminded me of that bloody john irenicus dungeon in baldurs gate 2. You just Plodded along and waded through the jargon cause you wanted to do the game properly.
Secondly and more importantly. I hated the fade for not allowing Dwarves to skip the area, and just have a boss battle. I think its a reasonable trade that you get to skip the annoying fade, but you dont get the XP and the permenent stat bonuses. However your game progresses faster and more realisticly.

I liked the Fade but it was a bit of a drag. That said, I do hope they will include more Fade action as I find the world very fascinating and would love to have a more story experience in there... What we got from the Fade was some half-assed combat action.

"almost all of us hate the fade"
"I speak for most of the people here when I say I'm expecting to meet this Justice guy in real world and not in The Fade"
Sorry, but this annoys me. Millions of copies of this game were sold and a few hundred people posted that they don't like it. In one of the threads some months ago, plenty of people posted that they did enjoy it, but this is always ignored.
There are similar split opinions about other parts of the game, such as the Deep Roads. For me personally, it is the the Breclian Forest that I enjoy least.
And for the record, I absolutely hope we do go back to the fade in Awakenings.

I liked The Fade in DA, the puzzles were nice. It was quite original, really. If Bioware can fit it into the story, why not?
As far as soloing goes - you realize that "soloing" in the Fade was specifically tuned, right? You didn't need a min maxed character to get through it.

The fade was a chore. There were people who either quit playing DA because of it or didn't want to make a new character because of that. They dreaded going through it again. This was posted on many forums not just here.
Granted as a mage/warrior its cake as is the rest of the game, or even a DW rogue but all my archer/ranger rogue's hated it just as I did. lol

What he said. The Fade was something different, interesting, and certainly spiced up the playthrough. I quite liked it.

I liked the fade. I don't know why the angst about it. Well most people whine if they don't want something in something, and if you like it you usually just move on never saying anything.

I enjoyed the fade a few times but on subsequent playthroughs it gets a bit draggy as you have to constantly revisit locales in order to collect up the only loot the place offers- the attribute bonuses (which was a clever touch, BTW).
I think what annoys people most about the Fade is that you are trapped there- once you encounter the sloth demon you are committed. Mandatory fun is never fun. If the circle tower wasn't so easy I'd resent being locked in to it as well, but sometimes life (even in an RPG) throws you the occasional curve.
I've used the 'skip the fade' mod once so far and I have to say...I liked it. Now at least I have the option of doing it or not.
I wouldn't mind revisiting the Fade in Awakenings, but not for hours on end, especially if the expansion is only 15-20hours or so. On my first playthrough (with a Rogue, before I knew all the tricks and so on) the Fade took me almost a whole day to complete.

Not everything is whining. Some people had valid complaints, it was not an easy area for all character builds.
I love it now...of course I have a skip fade mod.

Mandatory fun? I guess, but i think of it as a gateway/gate. Its something that bars you from your goal and you have to conquer it to succeed. Its a classic heroesque situation, it wouldn't be good if its so short and simple. And what would be the point of just another boss fight? It would be too bland.

Short trips to the Fade are fine. I enjoyed going there in Mage origin or for Connor.
The Fade maze "excursion" from the Circle Tower: all I can say is I enjoyed in on playthrough 1 ... grit my teeth for it for playthrough 2 and 3 ... fade-B-goned it for playthrough 4.
I would like to see more opportunities for your party to split up ... where the PC goes off and does something alone for a short while or with only one other companion ... or where a companion goes off alone for a while and does something ... I liked the opportunity for a 2 person "rescue mission" in Fort Drakon, etc. ... there could be ways to do that, even w/o Fade trips.
Main reason I wouldn't mind a (short) trip back to the Fade: I will love it if it gives my Fade shapeshifts back. Now those were shapeshifts that rocked.

The fade was fun the first time round as it was a good puzzle, however when you do multiple run throughs it is very annoying. I wont mind going back again though as it not going to be a mage tower copy and paste anyway.

I don't get what everyones problem is with the fade part tbh. It's an area just like any other. No more or less anoying than doing the siege of redcliff for the 50th time.

I absolutely hated the fade, the thought of doing it again always made me stop playing my characters once I had to go into it to progress.
I think they need to make the fade less Irritating, rather then omit it entirely. Seriously, it's way too easy to get lost, mixed up, etc. The only things you can collect you have to go way out of your way for, if you shape shift you lose all your buffs, sometimes fire behind doors instantly kills you and sets you way back.
It was a poorly planned out area of the game- but the concept was awesome.
(Edit: And I'm on console. I don't have a choice in it- I HAVE to do it if I want to play. It's not like Oblivion where the sidequests are probably more in number and longer then the main story- so you can ignore saving the world xD)

Better not be. Awakening is shorter, and that means doing the fade earlier ><;;

It's the only part of the game deliberately designed as a maze. Where getting lost is not only possible but likely. And of course you can't go certain places until you unlock certain shapeshifts, and because of that sometimes have to work backwards.
Doesn't bother me none - use the Prima guide maps to take the quickest route. Never tried to find all the attribute boosters. Still hated it on 4th pthru tho.
Cool thing to note if you're interested in Fade-B-Gone: you still get to see companion's nightmare worlds. It basically warps you from the faux-Duncan encounter to your companion nightmares, then the final boss battle with the sloth demon. Finally got to try it last night.

I'll join the opposition here. I liked the fade a lot. In fact, I'm always a little bummed when I finish it and I'm back in the circle tower without all those shapes at my disposal. I've only played through twice, a third if you count looking over my wife's shoulder, but I thought it was great.
To each their own.

I liked the Fade, the first time I did it that is. Past that it is quite a drag to get through and what is even more irritating is you should be doing it first to get Wynne who seems to be vital if you are playing through on Hard or Nightmare (I have the Xbox Version so I am not sure how hard Normal is on the PC version)
I wouldn't mind another Fade area in Awakening, it was a very interesting area but it is the fact that once I am in it I can't leave it is what bothers me. With all the other quest hubs I could easily go back and make a stop at my camp to heal wounds or sell stuff or make potions / buy them, the fade / mage's tower is the one area that completely locks you in and there.
So to me, More Fade would be cool but don't lock me in the area.
