You know I'd have to say the reason people stunk at and hated "The Fade" portion was that they never bothered to make proper use of the forms they were given while going through. If you knew which form was useful for which area it was pathetically easy and fast to progress through. The only time consuming part would be back-tracking to reclaim any and all stat bonus'.

Side-note * I did this with a Warrior, a Mage, and a Rogue it was no harder for one class than another due to the forms. Took me roughly the same amount of time to progress through with each character.

I have to say, I'm another who absolutely loves the Fade level; it's something completely different than climbing up yet another level of the Tower of Ishal or the Circle Tower or fighting through yet another horde of darkspawn in yet another thaig in the Deep Roads.  To each their own, but not all of us like wading through hours upon hours of mindless combat.

Plus, I have to agree with PCousland that the forms help imensely.  The first time through the Fade was tough, but now that I know what I'm doing on later playthroughs, it's much easier to strategize and quickly make it through the Fade.  I wish my warrior could always shapechange like that. ^_^

I quite enjoyed the fade as well. Whoever "almost all of us" and "most of the people here" (which surely is but a small percentage of the ppl that own the game, no?) are doesn't include me.

Ugh, why destroy when you can improve? I loved the fade but get why its so annoying to so many, and would love to see it improved. Now...

Removing the fade entirely removes one of the most potentially awesome parts of this franchise. I haven't read the books yet, but just subtle things like that camp by the Oak scream for gameplay exploitation. If random pockets of space can be obscured by the veil without detection for so long... GIVE ME MORE. That's science fiction level stuff in a fantasy world. Asking the devs not to focus on something that could be so cool is so counterproductive.

So here's a real suggestion. Create our own Fade form. Those guys who got lost in the Fade in Origins learned forms naturally just from being there for so long, so its only natural that the commander spending so much time veil hopping would grow more powerful there. Then you could introduce a full alternate power set and the problem people have with the Origins forms would be solved by being able to focus on whatever you want.

Hated it, its ok the first 2 or 3 times but after that... It just becomes a chore, trudging along and the constant backtracking. The Fade is supposed to be this hugely chaotic and terrifying place feared by all the Denizens of Ferelden, yet it's just a bunch of corridors with a few insignificant enemies. You have more chance of dieing of boredom in the Fade then being possessed by a Spirit and becoming a Maleficar.

I hated the fade. The forms were cool, especially switching from one to the other (Crushing Prison with the Revenant then slamming with the Golem. ) However, the area itself was looonnng and tedious.

Instead of no fade at all, I would petition for very short jaunts in the fade, sub 30 minutes would be fine by me.

I think the whole notion of the Fade is really quite cool, its just that the maze structure of the Fade in DAO get really tedious, really fast. I wished that the Fade was a bit more bizarre and surreal looking too- like a Salvador Dali painting on acid. Just get rid of the excessive backtracking and spice it up more visually and the Fade could be as cool as it should be.

I personally hate it every time I do the Lost in Dreams quest...I dunno, maybe some of you like it? But it seems that not many do.

I doubt we'll be doing another "OMGPUZZLE".

At the moment I could kill the Fade and its whole family because I can't get out of it!

Is anyone playing Awakening right now and know how to get into the baroness's mansion in the Fade? I have been running around for ages. I'm sure it has something to do with the riddle about where the fishermen rest, but I'll be damned if I know what it is.

Someone please help me!
