Some things I just take on faith and do it to get through the game, I for one find the whole Redcliffe section of quests fun to do. But I can understand how those who don't feel cause thinking of doing Deep Roads for the 10th time makes me wanna put my head in the car door and slam it a few times. But I have a plan see...
I'm gonna toss Anora out the tower window (egressing through tower windows never ends well) and for good measure I will toss Loghain out after her, find the jar of poison Jowan used on Eamon and redose his lamb and pea stew and have Alistair go recruit for the Wardens (since he doesn't want to be king anyway). This way see, Bann Teagan is next in line for the throne!!

You do need to tell Teagan you won't help. Only then will travelling somewhere else cause night to fall and the village to be attacked.Darkkyn46 wrote...
I've left Redcliff to go to camp to change party members, I get the cut scene where Tomas says they will probably be dead if I leave, but Redcliff is always there. Do you need to go somewhere other than camp to truly abandon it, or must you choose that in the dialog when Tegan asks for your help?
And as I've explained in other threads, abandoning Redcliffe isn't evil. It's practical.

Well, all I can say is one person's practical is another person's boneheaded move.

I promised to help and then went off to Denerim and when I got back everyone was dead.

In fact, I think a coherent evil character would save Redcliffe. It's a great way to ingratiate yourself with the nobility, and evil characters are often self-aggrandizing.errant_knight wrote...

The character who doesn't save Redcliffe sees it as interfering with his duty to defeat the Blight, and clearly doesn't care how people view him as a result of his decision. I can't reconcile that with evil.
