I have a question (hopefully it hasn't been answered) about the character creation process when importing a saved file. I beat ME1, but then uninstalled and cleared my content out. (Yes I know ) I found some saves online you can load and import into ME2 that cover a variety of options you could have chosen so that ME2 is based off of some of the decisions I made (Romancing Ashley, Let the council die..etc). I can live with perhaps not having every decision I made exactly the same, but getting the big ones I did make. With that said I can't live with seeing a character that lookes nothing like my old one.

My question is, can you only tweak your old character? Or does ME2 give you the option of completely remodeling an imported characterer? (IE-Your Me1 was the default Male Shep, and you decide you want a new skin color, and everything, does it allow that?). It would be great if you could even rename it, but I won't get my hopes up. I loved Me1, but I invested alot of time in it, and would rather not go back and do everything over again unless I must. I sure do wish there had been like a quiz on all events you could have chosen; you could simply click and answer, make your shepherd and boom your good to go.

Thanks for the help.

You cant rename your character but you can redesign their appearance from scratch! Which is really handy!

You can also completely change their class also. You cant change any decisions in ME you made, but you can start a new character for ME2 and choose the major ones.

It's not as handy as you might think, because you can't edit the face you made. You have to start over. It really should be an option...

Even still, it's not hard to look back and forth at them and rebuild the same face as your old one.

Which choices does ME2 give you to make without having an imported character? I was under the assumption that they were all made for you unless you had a character to import.

How does that relate to this thread?

The character creation in Mass Effect isn't that good same as in most games.

[laughs] Obviously, you've never tried it then as a perfectionist.

It relates in the sense that if the game allows me to choose the major plot points I chose, then I could simply start a new game and create a new character with the BIG decisions I chose from ME1 (I can live with some small ones not being my choices). Thus I wondered if someone could tell me what options the game gave you to choose from.

I could go that route rather than importing one with a name and face I did not create and cannot change (but with almost all the decisions I chose), if that makes sense.
