You're a dwarf and when you kiss Alistair, you are both suddenly close to the same height (he doesn't lean down any further than if you were another human).

That's the power of love.

Yeh. It makes things grow. B)

...that Orlesians seem to be rather French (Leliana, anyway) and Antivans sound a touch Spanish (Zevran, that is)?
...that random soldiers throughout the game have the EXACT SAME VOICE? I mean, I understand that voice actors are limited for non-important NPCs, but REALLY - could they at least TRY to make their voices sound a LITTLE different?

If dragons in DAO follow the "rules" of typical dragon mythology, then the High Dragon and Flemeth would have been around LONG before the actual start of the Dragon Age (seeing as the word "Origins" implies we are at the very beginning). If full-grown dragons are roughly 400 years old or more, that's four ages. Also, unless there's some freaky darkspawn magic we don't know about, the Archdemon in dragon form would also have to have been around for a long time, albeit in the Deep Roads.

That all begs the question, is the Dragon Age only JUST starting because the dragon-shaped Archdemon is deciding to surface?  'Cause there were certainly dragons flyin' around before the age started - oh yeah, even that one in the Brecillian Forest.

... that people really ARE that stupid and continually attack you, ALL the time. Right at the start, it's understandable, you haven't been a warden long and even Zevran is probably out of the loop, coming from Antiva and all. But by the time you reach Denerim, you've still got pickpockets and run of the mill cutthroats jumping out of the woodwork at you, in spite of the fact that your image is probably plastered on every wall that has space for it. Sgt. Kylon really is one of the smartest men in Ferelden, maybe HE should be king.

... that for having an entire organization devoted to hunting apostates, there are an astounding number of them running around, almost out in the open. I guess templars are too busy standing around outside churches to be bothered.

... that Knight-Commander Gregoir hasn't been replaced by Cullen sooner. Obviously mages are sneaking out of the Tower left and right. Seems like he's done a ****** poor job up until now.

... that there's very little livestock, anywhere. For a relatively rural nation, you see maybe 5 ox, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 chicken and a handful of crows.

... that Cammen is unable to become a hunter, despite the fact he's had two years to do so, and you step into the Forest for five minutes and animals are running at you - you could stand still and they'd just impale themselves on your sword.

... that for having no mirrors, everyone seems to be relatively well put together, even in the slums.

... that out of everyone in Ferelden, only 9 others join you over the course of a year in order to stop the Blight... and one of them is a dog? Shouldn't you basically have your own army following you around by that time?

Answer to this one is yes. It's the Archdemon that commands the darkspawn. There are other dragons around, they're rare, but not unheard of. The darkspawn's whole point is to dig and dig and dig until they find one of the old gods, wake them up and start their siege on the surface = Dragon Age whatever.

Any love scene supposedly done "in the tent" is actually done right next to the fire. Giving a show for the whole group are we?

Speaking of the chantry well, no one apparently ever notices that there are a bunch of rotting bodies in their water supply...

I've noticed this with Bethesda as well.  Must add to the flavor.  It's special mineral water.

Turn up your level of detail.  At least on a PC it brings out a lot more animals.

My personal pet peeve is that trap door in the windmill in Redcliff.   You go outside and you can actually see that part of the windmill is hanging over the cliff.  Then you look down to the water far below and up the cliff of the castle island - hmmm.   Must be a magical trap door.  Then there is a dry dock near the bar in Redcliff.  Any boats built there have no access to water.

About the trap door, it may lead back into land, rather than toward the water.

Each age is 100 years long. The year is 30 Dragon Age.

At the end of each age, the Divine in Val Royeaux names the next one based on 'signs' and 'portents'. This is called the Dragon Age because during Blessed Age year 99, a high dragon appeared and laid waste to parts of Orlais.

And it was originally going to be called the Sun Age, because the Orlesians were taking over Ferelden and would be presumebly taking over the rest of Thedas.

Which makes me question how "divine" the Divine are. I mean, they should have seen that, not only was a dragon going to destroy parts of Orlais, but that Maric was going to drive them out of Ferelden.

In stealth mode you can walk straight through guards and unlock / open  doors without the adjacent guards even pausing their conversation.

This is Alistair you're talking about.  :)

One of my new favorite lines in the game.

Wynne, post-coronation, asks you how it feels being the "Hero of Ferelden".  You can tell her "They could have picked a better name."

She says something to the extent of  "I understand it was Alistair's idea.  That explains much."  I love the boy, but I admit, I burst out laughing and had to agree with her!

Oh jeez. I was wondering why the title was so 'original'. I dont use that line with her cause I'm afraid she will be like
-"Now watch your mouth young man, respect what is given too you."

But Alistair is my best pal in the game. Even though he is goofy and sometimes in his own world. I think he will make a good King.

Not funny. At the first moment I saw him, with all those bloody bodies around, and his absent eyes, I was more scared than if I have found an Alpha Ogre:(

THIS is not quite so.

I first played DA:O on Medium Graphics, and saw NO chickens, NO oxen, the only Dogs I ever saw were in Ostagar (All Mabari) or in the Throne Room at the end, No cats, and only the Crows that follow Shale in WK and the Owl in there were the only feathered "fiends" I ever saw.

When I bumped it up to High graphics, however.....

I suspect that this is done to save graphic computing power.  I also found the squirrels in both the Korcari Wilds, and in Denerim Marketplace.  Go figure.

Yeah...despite Loghain's father raising horses, and the numerous horses found in the books, there are NONE in the game...horse virus that killed them all?

Is this why I'm not seeing the supposedly insane number of nugs running around Orzammar? My game gets laggy in Orzammar, or I'd play on high graphics. Or if DAO was the only game on my computer, which it isn't.
