I've been having trouble getting rid of gaps in my level layouts between wall-models and similar. I am using the lock grid wherever possible, but I'm still getting gaps or overlaps. Am I missing something really obvious to get rid of them? Or just really bad at level layouts?

EDIT -- Actually this seems to happen almost exclusively with fhi_wallhalf_0 and fhi_ceiling_2 (whatever they're called.) For now, I'm avoiding using these.

the gris is not needed. just drag your walls how you like them to be. also overlapping is no problem. with models of edges and pillars you cover those seams.

Depending on your personal preference, you may find it easier to use the Object Inspector to fine-tune the coordinates and orientation of models. Even with snap-to-grid, placing models manually can leave hairline gaps.

Let's say the wall section is 5 units long - place the first at (-2.5, 0), the second at (2.5, 0) and so on. With exact coordinates, no gaps. Placing lots of wall sections end-to-end or at right-angles is a breeze, too.

Needless to say, if you're more comfortable with hand-eye coordination than numbers, this method sucks.

From looking at some of the DA levels, I realised what I was doing wrong :) None of the level tutorials I looked at explained using pillars to cover seams. It all makes so much sense now :)

Another tip (if you're making an inside level), is to make sure the surrounding atmosphere to black, makes it harder to see those gaps.
