Has anyone noticed this at all? The Salarian's look like the "greys" while the Taurians look like the "Reptilians".
Or the asari look like a mix of humans and another species, which some victims claim to see the by products of their probing, which very much seem to act and look like asari..except for the skin part. The krogan and vorcha are the only two species I haven't seen any collaberating results from and the Collectors just in general look like your common "evil hive mind species."

EDIT:Forgot the quarians which look like the supposed "UFO crash corpses" that consiracy theorists say they get from Military documents.

Krogan look at least as reptilian as the Turians do. Turians walk more like birds than lizard people IMO.
You've never seen a Quarian with their face plate off (the view was at the wrong angle). Salarian's look more like the classic 'little green men' than Quarians. Salarians look more amphibian than anything else IMO.
The people in the mass effect universe expected the Protheans to look regal as opposed to their actual appearance.
When you think of a highly biologically advanced race the last thing you expect is all their organs to be replaced by circuit boards.

No matter what you look at, it will resemble something. That is the way our brains work. However, tt may or may not be the correct image. Taking advantage of those preconceptions allows writers to make things easy to understand or write in a twist you wouldn't expect.

Krogan's are big and strong so we expect them to be dumb and aggressive (which they confirm 99% of the time). Then they gave us Wrex, the philosophical Krogan, as a squad mate.

You are a bit late with the observation. From the ME Wiki entry on salarians:

"The salarians' facial and body structures are similar to those of the clichéd 'Gray Man' alien found in various sci-fi stories and conspiracy theories, the most obvious similarity being the eye shape and overall head structure along with their fairly long, slim limbs and equally slim torso."

One cornerstone of ME is the "familiar yet original" game presentation. I see shades of MechWarrior in Grunt's mission, and shades of Apocalypse Now in Jacob's mission. Hell, you can make a Terminator Salvation trailer out of ME cutscenes:
