No, no. You actually ARE the commander of the Grey Wardens. Which would put you in a bit of an awkward position if Duncan was actually alive. I mean, there can't be 2 epic beards in lead of one order, so the older one must be capitulated.

I know he's a really cool guy and most everybody idolizes him, but that's what makes his death so meaningful. Bioware wouldn't and shouldn't cheapen that moment or his memory with cliche plot twists that don't make ANY sense.
