Human Noble Warrior with sword and shield spec. Knights in shining armor simply rules when it comes to looks and going eye to eye with mobs as tank just feels three times more heroic than anything else. I really enjoy the whole human noble orgin story, and I also feel so much closer to dog in the Human noble orgin than with any other orgin.

The only sad thing about always being HN Tank myself is that there I have no practical use for Alistair in my group. I like Alistair and his banter a lot, even if he got angry and ran away when I married Anora myself in my canon ending.

Spec Alistair as DW/2H. You get him early enough that it won't be a total waste of his couple of SS skills (or, if you play on the PC you can use the respec mod). He's never SS in my game anymore and he's a beast.

Hmm. I usually play with Morrigan, Wynne and Leliana plus my HN. Two mages is awesome. Besides, if I do use a damage dealing plate user, it's Oghren. I just like Oghren a lot. But your have to love all the choices you can make.

All Orgins are well worth playing IMO, partly just to learn more about all the different parts of Fereldan. Human Noble is my favorite, but that doean't mean the others aren't wort playing. It's so intersting just to see how playing a different orgiin, can affect your whole outlook on the events in the game.

My favorite origin was my dwarf noble. My only regret is my ending turned out too good. It really was almost a perfect ending. I ended up being a Paragon and having the Aeducan house restored. Which pretty much makes me the most powerful person in Orzammar. My mage's origin wasn't nearly as good but my choices made for a grittier ending.

You can easily run with two sword and shield warriors, you have a lot of control over the battlefield and your not squishy. That's what I did. I can't see running without Alistair, hes the other Grey Warden doesn't make sense not to take him.

Dwarven Noble. I just love the aura of respect (remember the fainting merchant?) i had, which i lost due to my scheming brother despite my innocence.

Made my heart melt when i got a letter from my dad through gorim telling me of his regrets. Then coming back, placing Harrowmont on the throne and becoming a paragon. awesome stuff

In every RPG I always play humans. I guess I'm just boring that way.

Ugh, I find this role boring as hell and am happy to leave it to an NPC.  Though the presence of tons of pretty armor and weapons for the warrior and a relative pittance for rogues probably means more share your opinion.

Mage.

I've played them all, but it's the only one I keep playing again.

Which feels the most natural fit? Well from a social point of view it wouldn't be either of the noble origins, both far too privilliaged. On the other hand The dwarf commoner and city elf go too far in the other extreme. The Dhalish elf would seem more appropriate for people from big families or outdoorsy type of people. I think the mage origin relates more to educated professionals or trades people so that "fits" the best.

I'm gonna have to agree with a lot of the people here.  Dwarf Noble and Human Noble have been my favorite.  The Dalish Origin really felt like it could have been so much more to me.

I have to admit, though, that the dwarf noble seems almost like easy mode.  Start the game with 25 gold is enough to buy two +5 dmg runes which is a HUGE help to start with.

Did I miss a quest?  Because my casteless dwarf started the game pretty wealthy (thanks to her drug dealing) and my DNF was almost penniless.

You have to talk with Lord Dace, carry through with what he asks you to do and get a reward for doing it. The reward is his promissory note for 100 gold. You then have to sell it (at a discount) before heading off on your mission. They strip your possessions when they throw you in jail, but you keep your cash.

The Daces really don't like to part with cash. Ask for a reward in the origin you get a note that can only be re-sold at 1/4 it's face value. Ask for a reward in Aeducan Thaig and you get a vague promise of a discount.
