I am basically wondering for those that have the game, how do the mage items look?

Are the hats still godawful?
Robes, do we have any different looking robes?
Staves, if you went through da:o did you find possible upgrades for your staff? Or were none of them impressive?

I am playing through the first game again, and I cannot decide if I want to dump enough points into str to simply get rid of the mage robes. (Ancient elven kinda looks nice imo)

From what I've heard, no. We all look about the same as we did in Origins.

New spells and such though...And there is always arcane warrior...

So long as Velanna's attire remains the only piece of Tevinter rubbish in Awakenings, I'm fully content with wearing more of the same.

Actually, there are new staves that look cool.

But as for robes and hats, most likely no unfortunately.

Well, in Bioware's defense mages act like pansies, guess they should dress like them too...
(Stun/freeze effect spells ALL the damn time, then they run away. Curse of mortality could be one of the biggest pain in the asses too...)
I wouldn't mind giving an arcae warrior Disciple's armor, but that armor looks too cool so we probably can't use it.

Seeing how they dress now:

I would love a variation of that, with the the bottom robe part of the Templar armor added to it. ........and the sash.

Shoot if there are no decent looking mage robes, what about light armor? Thinking if I bump my str up to 20 I can at least open up light/medium armors. At the very least I wouldnt have to wear a dreadful mage hat.

Great armor and weapons for Arcane Warriors

And also why are you suprised?

Mages always get shafted in almost every game, lame story, lame gear, etc.

The witvher 2 seems to bring something new to the equasion, and let's face it, it has a better setting than Dragon Age.

Just to tell everyone who hasn't found this out the First's Sentinel Armour works properly on Dwarves even if humans and elfs suffer from the Warden Keep glitch. At least this works on my PS3 anyway, equipped it in Oghren.

Runic armor and swords is currently not working with new characters in the 1.03 Awakenings patch. But it will work with pre-1.03 older saves, but Origins only.

If they make DLC for Awakening, it had damn well better come with that armor.
