Wow, that's even better than the mere MA15+ in Australia.

We've got Atkinson, who's the moron in NZ?

No moron in NZ thankfully.

games R13 here but ive noticed that most damn under 15s are so immature here that they might as well be 12.

This game really should of been R16 in NZ.. all the time I hear some 13 year old going on about Mirandas boobies or some other crap..

Rating system affects jack **** in America. I've played games like Half-Life 1 & 2, the Halo games and the COD games online and I have heard so many damn 11-13 year olds it is annoying. And for some reason they are always ****s too. Never understood why.

For instance I bought Falout 1 & 2, very M rated when I was 12 or 13.  No problem, had problems getting Dungeon Keeper though.  But I bet I could have went back later and with a different clerk and they would have let me pass.

Because its got the F word. Yeah, I rate a game on language after my mother. Was telling me to F off on a daily basis when I was a kid. Hell even my teachers have told me to go F myself and this is the US. You know for a country with freedom of speech. Its really not free until your 18 even then its not. HAHA!

Western world has way too big a problem with "relationships" and way too small a problem with guns.

American ratings are really just suggested guidelines anyway. My friends and I all grew up playing any game we wanted to play. I was 14 when Grand Theft Auto: Vice City came out, even younger for GTA3, and even then we could walk up to the counter and buy those and any other games on the shelves. Of course, we were all fairly mature, too, and never spent our time playing Halo 2 online screaming racial slurs and other hate speech.

Yeh the european pegi marked it as 18+.
And the markings are "violent episodes" and "offensive language".

Oh dear.

Yeah, as others have said, it's M. 17+.

No one in America seems to pay any attention to ratings, though. Doesn't stop kids from playing. Doesn't stop their parents from whining about it when they find out that the M rated game they bought for their seven year old has a glimpse of side boob in it, and it doesn't stop the ignorant masses from taking that parents side rather than telling them that they were warned and to take a little responsibility.

I'm not even sure why we bother.

Lets see ours has: Blood, Drug Reference, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Violence

I bet its the Sexual Content and Strong Language that is the reason why it is M here.

It's rated "M" but it's ludicrously easy to get that rating. Generally speaking, if it in any way offends a soccer mom, puritanical twit or brainless bible beater, it gets an "M" rating. And even then only because the soccer mom had enough brain cells left in her head to block the puritan and fundie from giving it an "Adults Only" rating.

Every form of media in America is rated on one standard: "How much does it ****** off the christians?"  The more it does, the stricter the rating.

Nah, I am also pretty sure it is a marketing ploy. There is absolutely no reason why the Halo games have an M rating when the content is way milder than Jet Force Gemini

For instance: MGS Portable Ops was released with an M rating, absolutely no content in it would have lead to that, its expansion was rating T and it was the exact same except it didn't have a story mode.

Sexual content. What sexual content. Oh, wait you mean the kiss and miranda pulling down her suits and you see her in a Bra with no nipple sense. Yeah I could tell its really sexual. No ME 1 earned it M rated espically with the blue butt scene which I found very tasteful and enjoyable. =D
