To bring in on-topic, I am positive this is not Mr Gaider's fault. He said time and time again that many content had to be cut from Origins because of constraints and that made him sad. So the same applied to Awakening, due to its much smaller budget. If it was completly up to him, he would have handled the US ending very differently.
Its quite a shame how limited a writer's creativity has to be when restricted by both financial and time constraints. This game, or any other game of similiar stature, would be very different if Bioware was given total freedom of resources, I'd think. I can't imagine what Gaider would have wanted the continuity of the Ultimate Sacrifice without any strings attached to be.
Not to intentionally digress or anything, but I've never really understood why people who get themselves into the gaming business often find themselves to be less passionate about actually playing games than they used to before they decided to join the industry. I'm just going to guess its the restraints on creative freedom that plays a part in such a thing. This is when it all comes down to it a piece of art, after all.
