Bioware.....what was the point of making her suit so tight you could see her ******?

If you remember, early on in the game when Shep spoke to Miranda, they discussed how Miranda is 'enhanced'.
She not only mentioned how she is physically stronger than most humans, can heal faster and her physical form is also enhanced, and useful as a tool/weapon for manipulation.

You shouldnt let the idea of your 13 year old getting 'excited' over something that is a natural occurance and something he can witness any day of the week on the street or in school make you become frustrated at Bioware for their exploration of 'fanfare' that directly relates to this characters persona.

If you have an issue with your child witnessing said things you need to 1) disallow him to watch you play an M rated game, and 2) give him a thorough and complete understanding of the 'Birds and the Bees' which I would assume by 13 he has already had or learned for himself.

Either way, Miranda's tight outfits accent not only how she views herself, but also shows her interest in exhibitionism.  *Shrugs* its what all women with good assets do, if your proud of it, show it off.; some just are more tasteful outfits than others.

THANK YOU. I feel like I'm going insane here.

....

Ok NOW I'm out for good. Just had to brush my teeth.

I think most of you misunderstood the reason I made him leave the room.  I am of th emind that violence and nudity/sex in video games does NOT make people do things or act a certain way.  I sent him to his room because he was being completely obnoxious about it.  Hey, we got 2 other sleeping children in the house and he was making too much noise.

As for her suit, there was really no reason for Bioware to give as much detail to her genital region as they did, it was excessive.

I still stand by my point independent of the posters problem.

They could have handled Miranda more tactfully, instead they didn't and made her more overt just to be overt really and it seems out of place and cheesy.

Yeah... most 13 year olds are that obnoxious. If it's any consolation, he'll probably get less obnoxious and more sullen in the next 1-5 years. As for the alleged "detail to her genital region," I think this is likely unintentional. It seemed to be...er... "prominently" displayed in the opening cutscene, but I think that was a result of shadowing and the pattern on her suit.
But yeah, close up on her ass in that scene is ridiculous. Ridiculously funny. I mean COME ON! Miranda, a total b*tch up to this point, had to persuade Shepard to rescue her sister SOMEHOW!

oh no. human body parts. i'm sure he is scarred for life.

nevermind. you're just an idiot because on the package it says "M" and also says "sexual content." maybe be a responsible parent and screen what your kid is exposed to.

nevermind again.  he sees it at school already.  he's fine and will be fine and thoroughly enjoyed making you feel uncomfortable.

If you're worried about your 13 year old son coming into contact with sexual content then perhaps you shouldn't play a 18+ rated game (Blood, Drug Reference, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Violence) with him.

ITT: I'm a man and I've never been sexually harassed in my life.

A defining trait of Miranda is that she feels uncomfortable with her genetic engineering, that she has everything, but didn't earn it. Her body is included in this.

This is why Miranda's 'sex symbol' status in the game and on these forums troubles me. The camera focuses on her ass multiple times, you can see cameltoe, her loyalty costume has visible panty line, even other characters call her whorish. I have a lot of trouble having a serious conversation with a woman when her ass is half the screen. I like attractive people as much as the next person, but there's a time and a place. Her romance scenes, for example, not an emotional conversation on how she feels like less of a person.

All the focus on her appearance and sex appeal cheapens her character. She doesn't like it. Much like Jack, she wears revealing clothing because she doesn't value herself. She sees herself as a collection of assets, rather than a true person, and dresses/acts to maximize these assets at the cost of herself. I don't understand why people who claim to be such big Miranda fans miss that part.

At this point I feel it necessary to point out the context of that shot: Miranda giving her Loyalty mission, you know trying to convince Shepard to go out of his way to do something for him - after she's already admitted to having no problem to using her looks to manipulate people. And you don't understand how the timing of that particular shot is actually meant to say something about her character? Like maybe how she's completely willing to use her sexuality to get her way, in other words acting in exactly the kind of manner that prior conversations with her imply she would?

Miranda's outfit puts her looks to their full use. Something which she admits to taking advantage of. Its part of her character.

*Sighs*

Oh well whatever. Its just kind of lame and double standardish that female characters aren't allowed to to act/be sexy without everyone screaming that its exploitative.

Also - I don't recall ever noticing ****** on her.
Now the girls of Dragon Age when stripped to their undies on the other hand? Awwwwww yeah....

You know the oddest thing... I've never even noticed. I mean, I just assume that it's a computer generated character. I had always seen Miranda as bits of coding. Still do.

Making a fuss over pixels, sheesh.

See this is where you seem to have missed something. She's insecure in that fact that her abilities and looks were all engineered, and not by all rights 'her own,' she feels like she isn't entitled to what she has, being around Shepard who is awesome simply because Shepard is awesome and not because daddy paid for the 'perfect' offspring makes her feel insecure.

Note that she still has absolutely no issues with making use of the advantages she was given despite this. Miranda think  of her looks the same way she thinks of her enhanced Biotic abilities - a tool to be used.

And again with this problem with her as a 'sex symbol' - note that you could have a male character with a perfectly muscled chest and six pack, maybe even some crotch buldge, and no one will bat a goddamn eyelid. Woman character being sexy? No that's trashy and cheap - the ladyfolk are all supposed to repress their sexuality, and damn well better be virgins when you get your hands on them.

Porn is a recording of live individuals, Miranda is coding formed in to an image. One is video, the other is imaginary.

Actually, there is. The adult rating is to demonstrate that it's a game unsuitable for minors. Adding explicit sex and nudity merely makes it interactive pornography. Those games already exist, go download them.

A lot of people in this thread seem not to have read the OP's post. That is, some of you are under the mistaken impression he had a problem with Miranda's ass in the game (damn, has that one guy who posted that shot taken over the thread with it).

The OP was upset because a camera glitch caused him (and his son) to see what was to him a very revealing shot of Miranda's genital region. And then he sent his son to his room because he was being obnoxious about it. Granted, he used the opportunity to talk about his problem with her outfit in general, but it was to a very specific, pointed purpose - the suit was too excessive at times, especially when no discernible purpose was gained from it (such as when the camera glitched on him).

This has all been lost on those who'd rather talk about sexuality in general, or that the OP's comments have somehow betrayed to the world his obviously puritanical, close-minded beliefs.

Don't assume too much in what you read, Internet. Assumptions kill.

This strikes you as a healthy outlook? Miranda looks at all of herself as a tool to be used. In fact, in order to start her romance, I'm pretty sure you have to tell her that she's not just a tool and more than the sum of her parts.

And again with this problem with her as a 'sex symbol' - note that you could have a male character with a perfectly muscled chest and six pack, maybe even some crotch buldge, and no one will bat a goddamn eyelid. I don't think it counts as being in touch with your sexuality when you have no choice in the matter. Miranda's father custom-made her to be 'the perfect woman'. Hearing this all her life, Miranda flashes her body because she's been constantly taught that it's what she should do because it will get her ahead. That's not healthy.

I have no problem with her sexuality, I have a problem when the game tells us that she feels insecure about herself and objectifies her in the same breath.

Literally, this is how that scene and others end up:
MIRANDA: I feel like a tool to be used by people and don't value myself as a person because of it.
(CAMERA: OHOHO DAT ASS, CHECK IT OUT)

MIRANDA: I can't believe the only person who ever saw me as a person rather than an object betrayed me!
(CAMERA: DAT
F*CKING
ASS)

Ummm, so is it impossible to consider, say, something drawn or painted to be porn?
I don't have a problem with Miranda, personally, but your statement seems poorly thought out.
