I was wondering if anyone had noticed that it sounds like if you are a Paragon or Renegade, it seems like Shepard has a different tone for the exact same dialogue branch... like the Paragon Shepard saying "I should go." sounds nicer then my other Renegade Shepard saying the exact same thing. Also some other conversation items sound nicer or meaner depending as well. The words and voice are exactly the same, but there is a different tone.

Some lines of dialogue I can tell are exactly the same as before, but seems here and there, and even in important conversations with The Illusive Man and other main story sections, I notice her saying something nicer or meaner then I recall before. I am playing a Paragon Female Shepard with a friend of mine and a Renegade Female Shepard as my second run through character, so I switch back and forth between the two often. I just don't recall the little touches of ****yness my Renegade Female Shepard seems to have here and there.

So my question is, has anyone else noticed this? Is it just me? Is there truly 4 seperate voice tracks for one character? Male-Good, Male-Bad, Female-Good, Female-Bad? Or is it maybe psychological? The nice Shepard looks friendlier then the Renegade one... if I posted pics of each of them you could just tell which one is the good one just by their facial expressions (and not the facial scarring).

If there is only one set of dialogue recorded for the female Shepard, then it's interesting to me that my Renegade Shepard's Physical Appearance is playing tricks on me that she is truly mean at times... while the nicer, softer looking Paragon Shepard just seems nicer about things.

And it's not just me that wonders this, my friends were over and we did the exact same area with Paragon Female Shepard, and Renegade Female Shepard, and said the exact same thing, and it just sounded and felt different in tone and approach, even though the words were the same.

Any thoughts on this?

Well I know female Shepard is a bit spunky if she goes more renegade like early on when Illusive ask how she is. Bottom choice she goes "I noticed a few upgrades" while top is "People I know and trust deserve to ask me that question." Top to me seems like Shepard is over protective and is tottaly anti Illusive man or anti Cerberus. She would be like "Well I understand but I don't trust Cerberus." Bottom she would be "Ok lets go out and go kick ass." like she's part of the crew.

To be honest the best way to really check is early on around the prolog where you can bash the tar out of Jacob with the trust issue choices on the top while not careing about him being part of Cerbeus on the bottom. Same goes for Miranda's whereabouts. Top is "She ressurected me" bottom "well we can't be certain until we reach her" aka "Maybe, maybe not"

Well, if you want to test if it's the physical appearance playing tricks on you (and I think it is), record the sound and compare it.

Or overlay the audio over the other's video.



I suspect it's something else, though. Like lighting effects or background music, while the actual speech audio is the same.

I guess I'll have to do record some audio to see... I was hoping if some people had similar experiences where if they leaned more Paragon or Renegade, but said the same exact thing, it sounded slightly different.
