So my first insanity playthrough I did NG+.  The only way I was able to beat it was using in game exploits like refraining from entering a room knowing enemies will only stay in that room and firing my powers around corners.  I'm doing another playthrough and I have to say that NG+ on Insanity just isn't enjoyable.  It seems like they would have caught on that it was too difficult for players.  So Bioware... please don't pull this crap in the next game.  The game simply isn't fun when you do... and some of us like to get achievments.  That makes us get angry at the game and not want to play it once we have gotten all achievments.

Umm, are you saying it's too hard -for you-? NG+ insanity is the hardest mode in the game for a reason, and still some people say it's too easy.

High difficulty levels exist for people who like playing a difficult game. You don't have to play it on Insanity.

Some people like to work on achievments. Also... try playing NG+ Insanity as an engineer or adept and see if you change your mind. I've finished it... but like I said... it wasn't enjoyable. It detracts from the game. An Insanity playthrough should be the same if you are starting from lvl 1 or NG+ lvl 30. I guess the real issue is that they should have included the upgrades that you acquired from the previous playthroughs from the characters being used in NG+.

intreasting point, while playing through on insainty was a difficult task to say the least, i agree that i was only doing it for te achivement, and that it was not as enjoyable as it should of been, like playing it through in vet. However, it exsist for those of us that like a challange, those that thought ninja gaiden was easy on grandmaster, and so on so fourth. But the answer is simple my friend, if you, like my self dont enjoy playing it through on insainty, then dont, simple enough answer really isnt it but it is there for people who want to and some people do enjoy it, so there really is no point complaining about it.

It is harder only until you get the important upgrades back (that means after the Horizon).

I played through it for the achievment (and yes I know the achievment if for any Insanity playthrough... so I should be named Shepard).  No I'm just trying to see if I can do it without have to hide behind doors and throwing out singularity to lower shields and stuff like that but... it is a pain.  In order to save Garrus I had to use up all my Heavy weapon ammo on Garm (the freeze gun)... it just seems too hard for certain classes.

Well there isn't so deal. Bioware does can't actually cater to the whim of every single player. If it's really a big deal get off your butt and mod it.

On the subject of actual game difficulty, though .. I think NG+ insanity is exactly the same as insanity.

The difference is, the game is level-scaled is all.

I don't think it's all that difficult, but I had to change the order I did missions in, in order to hunt for upgrades.

Bioware are not here to hold your hand. You play the hardest mode in the game that has no benefits attached to it. You then complain said mode is too hard and that it has no achievement attached to it. Yet you do not want to fix it yourself.

Lazy.

NG+ Insanity Soldier was difficult until about half way through. The collector ship platforms, Horizon, Start of Jack recruit, Garrus recruit and final Reaper were the most difficult. Finding good cover and selecting good offensive stand off biotic/tech powers were the key.

Choosing the Heavy Weapon 6/6 upgrades to get (2) shots on the Cain is a better way to go than the AR 6/6 alternative. I unfortunately had the AR 6/6 so had to make due with a single Cain shot on the Reaper.

If I had it to do over, I would have done a ME1 Import Insanity to help things move a little quicker. The slow going was the biggest negative to the NG+ Insanity choice.

Umm, but don't you see the irony here?
You complain about NG+ being too difficult because you're hunting achievements.
There isn't an achievement for this.

Then you say there should be one ... umm, don't you think a lot more people would get frustrated with NG+ if they're achievement hunting, then?
If there's a mode that's "too hard," there shouldn't be an achievement attached to it.

Please excuse my ignorance here but does NG stand for new game? as in starting at lvl 1? Instead of redoing it at lvl 30? And in my achievement log I show one for completeing 2 games on insane--- so I am a tad confused here.

They're talking about New Game+ (plus), which is replaying the game using a previous ME2 character whose campaign you've finished. New Game+ gives you the benefit of starting the game at the level you ended your character in from the last gameplay (ex. If you do a new game + with your Jake Shepard who you've leveled up to level 27, then you'll start off the game at level 27.), and you also have the advantage of having all the weapons and heavy weapons you've collected from the previous playthrough available to you once you get the Normandy 2.

However, given that the game scales up your enemies strength in relation to your current level, playing a New Game + with a high level character would be far more difficult than playing a New Game with a level 1 character, especially since upgrades don't carry over.

At least up to Horizon for the most part.  After Horizon you unlock important upgrades that elevates your character to being back at the normal level of instanity.

The good thing about NG+ on insanity is that you save quite a bit of money on armor as well and don't have to spend so much resources on researching new heavy weapons.

*groan* Yeah... I'm still on my Hardcore NG+, and Horizon was definitely the big hurdle. I want to do my Insanity playthrough with an imported ME2 character too, but the thought of having to deal with that again makes my head spin.

If its too hard, you're doing something wrong.

Complaining about NG+ is just pointless. Bioware never had any intention of even including NG+. It was implemented near the last minute by one of their developers. You should just be happy that it is included at all.

If you can't beat it, you don't deserve the achievement. I bet you support socialized health care, too!

I thought the term "achievement" meant working towards a difficult goal, not free "kewl points" on the XBOX live system or whatever.

If you don't like it, turn it down... I personally only play on Insanity so it doesn't seem bad to me.
