People are so close-minded when it comes to Talis face that not meeting their expectations comes close to an insult to some of them (as stupid as it may sound). Thats why I think it's better for BioWare to not show her face ever.

Why would Shepard smile when Tali reveals her face and looks like a reptile or weird bird-alien?
We have to assume she looks very human like.

This thread is why they won't reveal it. Even if they make a great face for Tali (like the TC had here) the majority of the Tali fans will scream that it sucks because it's not what they have in mind.

I'm not a talifan, I just like quarians in general. I have nothing specific in mind, but there is a limit.

That picture may be interesting, but there is absolutely nothing alien in that face, and that is very unnerving in a science fiction game.

It's some of the best Mass Effect fan art I've ever seen, and it's consistent both with the structure of Tali's face from what we can see in the game and the description provided in the second book of a disrobed quarian. Still I doubt it's what Bioware has in mind.

And this thread is an example why I do not think Bioware should ever show Tali's face

The outrcry will be even greater if they don't show it. I'm sure that they can reach a satisfactory result; just make something that's more alien that the asari, but still human-like enough to be attractive, and you got a good result.

As for the starting pic of this thread, it's very well made, but way too human, as has already been mentioned. And besides, not a single one of Mass Effect alien races has hair; the Unreal Engine doesn't handle it too well, so the devs are trying to minimize the need to model it.

I agree. But I fear that, even if they don't reveal Tali, they will some day reveal the quarians.

Nowadays there is little appreciation for mystery. Just look at Star wars and all the background work it has had over the years: every single detail is given encyclopedic treatment, with thorough explanations and concept art. We don't NEED that to enjoy a fictional universe.

So why don't they show us their culture without showing their faces? Why can't they focus their designs on cool loking masks and protective suits? Let's hope they can.

They'll play it safe and make her look very human. That way it'll ****** of the least amount of people. Otherwise, they just won't show her face.

No sharp, poisonous mandibles of death? Every one knows Quarians have eight venomous mouth parts.

If you can't find an alien attractive, don't fall in love with an alien. Period.

Actually yes. If bioware reveals tali's/any quarian's face in ME3 then there will be billions of people whining that she looks bad. If bioware would've a diffrent design then the people who were happy with the first design will be pissed etc.

I always pictured the Quarians as looking kindof like the Na'vi from Avatar. The difference being them shorter, fewer digits on each limb, instead  very pale shade of purple. Tali has the same kind of lithe frame as Neytiri (though a lot more curvaceaous). My reasoning, we've seen quite a few notable "animal analogue" races already, Reaper=reaper culttlefish, Turian=dinosaur, Krogan=lizard, Salarian=salamander, Hanar = jellyfish, Elcor=elephant, Drell=snake, so "cat" is the most notable omission. Their legs are kindof like a cat's hind legs, and the quarian accent has a Russian tint to it, giving their voices kindof a purring effect, like Juhani from KOTOR.  Love or hate Avatar, it did show that "two-legged hairless cats" don't have to be as ugly as Juhani.

In any case, to those uncomfortable with her looking too human - let's face it: there is NO way Shepard would be even remotely attracted to Tali if she looked anything like this:  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bio-roger.jpg

I'm don't consider myself a shallow "all about looks" kind of person, but considering how beefcake-ish male Shepard is, and how ugly Juhani and Roger are... I think you know where I'm going with this.

Just wanted to create a thread dedicated to the skills of vespaz.. He made an incredible picture of what he imagines Tali would look like maskless.

I'm sure most of you have seen it already, at least the ones hanging around in the  Tali thread, but it goes by a bit too quickly imo and I figured this thread might progress in a more humane speed.

Anyways.. here's the pic:

So mate, what'd you use to make it?

Do you have have any more pictures laying around you might want to share? Not just about Tali but just any pics in general.

Anyway.. great work :)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA hell no.

it doesn't even look that good from a strictly photo morph standpoint..head and mouth sit to high...nose doesn't match what you see through the visor..etc..

no to mention too human looking...see it's people like this....that make me prey when or IF bio ever reveals what they look like that they fit what we see under the mask....totally alien looking..just humanoid in shape...but otherwise totally bland....or even better yet...just for the lolz...relatively ugly looking

As far as fanart goes, it's good. Great, in fact. But as an interpretation of how Tali looks like... no.

If you look at both masks in ME1 & 2, there eyes are slitted somewhat & glow.

Im thinking Quarians are mix of what a Grey Alien(that we all know what looks like) & a Human.

Thats what I think Quarians look like.

We already know they are "human-like", from what was said in Ascension and from what we can gander from the face placeholder behind Tali's mask. I do hope when it's time to reveal her (Casey Hudson has said they know what she looks like) or Quarians in general, they have at least something that makes them look alien.

Fantastic picture, either way. I wish I had those types of art skills.
