Why would Shepard smile when Tali reveals her face and looks like a reptile or weird bird-alien?
We have to assume she looks very human like.

My Shepard is extremely happy with the more alien looking... aliens. Yeah.
So you would actually hit the reptile-bird-turian?

Slap some purple on that skin and its fine.
Why do people keep assuming that her skin is purple? The only part of her skin that we actually see is her nose, and it's a grey/blue color. The only thing that we know for sure that is purple is the gas floating around in her helmet that is keeping us from seeing her face. And this gas is probably not representative of the Quarian's skin tone, considering that some of the people that are in the flotilla have black gas in thier enviro-suits.
Well apparently something must have gone over your head because usually placeholders in games are representative of the final result/product.
Then again the nose iteslf isn't proof, she really could be any color due to the visor tint. My main reason for disagreeing that she's purple is because I'm hoping to hell that she doesn't just look like a space night elf. If that ends up being the case then I'm going to have to take her out back behind the shed and tearfully put down the overused clihe with a shotgun. I'll be fine with her if she's anything else though.

Yup.
In fact, I did.
Numerous times.
It was awesome.

Rest assured, Tali isn't a space night elf, or any elf for that matter. Elves have long ears and in the book of Ascension it says Quarians have no visible ears. And judging from Shepard's smile in the romance cutscene, it looked as if he was quiet satisfied with what he saw...KillaKow wrote...

As an art, it's a great picture. I dare anyone who criticizes this for artistic quality to post his own art. I love the detail on the cloth, the chipped and worn look on the metal parts of the helmet and the lighting. If the artist is around, could you share how you made it - 3d model, photo manipulation, painted etc.?
To point against some criticisms - no, the head is perfectly proportionate to the body and helmet. Unless the helmet is actually just a thin bucket around the Quarian's head, it would be significantly larger in volume to accommodate the required air filters, medication/antibiotic injectors, sensor equipment, armor plating, heat sinks, oxygen ventilation (mouth-piece flashlight, too)... really people, have you even put on a simple gas mask or night vision goggles to see how bulky they are, let alone such complex machinery?
One thing I do not fully, from a purely subjective point of view, is that she's too human. Maybe slightly less human features would have been better. Still, that's subjective. I really like the skin tone, for it actually looks like skin that's never seen the sun - she looks sickly. Almost dirty, even - like very sick people or plague victims. In any case, it looks far better and convincing than the purple skin, which (beside being fueled by some Night Elf obsession...) is completely illogical, even based on in-game fact. If Tali's skin is purple than the Quarians must be rainbow colored, given how many different visors we've seen (yellow, orange, blue, tan). Plus, purple has no biological justification.
Besides, everything else aside, this captures the spirit of the character.

Good point, though I belive Grayson's exact words were something along the lines of "What passes for an ear" or something like that. So there's an ear there, it's just that it looks nothing like a human ear.
But purple skin + glowing eyes + perfect human nose = still way too much of a cliche. But Bioware isn't known for creating cliche characters anyway, so we're safe.
*looks at jacob* well... mostly non - cliche characters

As long as BioWare makes Tali look sweet, cute, shy and innocent I'll be happy.KillaKow wrote...

Also, this purple-infatuation with her is getting to me (and I'm a *huge* Tali fan). Her face is only "purple" because her faceplate is, just like those quarians who are "green" because of their green faceplates. Come on, Talimancers!

Me too. I'm actually in the Liara camp as far as LIs go, but I'd rather see the people who actually appreciate Tali to win, rather than all those disturbing ones who'd perfer creepy fetishes and the like.

You're assuming they have skin pigmentation in the same way humans do. I'm in your camp when it comes to the fact Tali and other quarians will probably be pale, though you can't leave out other possibilities (such as 'omg purple').
But yeah, ugliness is doubtful when BioWare has such a massive fanbase on their hands.
They made Garrus more ugly in ME2 and no one cared...........
Everyone knows Bioware did this as a joke referencing to the low res Garrus face in the ME1 PC inventory (not sure about xbox). Everyone complained about it and said 'fix Garrus' face!' so we finally got a high res one in ME2 only to have him scarred.

*facepalm* As much as people won't like it,she will most likely be very ugly. She won't have hair, her skin will be greezy and slimy and most likely will be very pale.
same reason femshep smiles when she asks garrus if he wants to relieve stress with her lmao

Firstly you can see their type of heads are snake-type, well at least on the male ones, they're kinda long.

Won't matter either way. If she's revealed in ME3, then we'll find out how she really looks like and all of these fan concepts will mean nothing. If she doesn't get revealed, then we can still have our vague impression of how she might look like.Amethyst Deceiver wrote...
